Members of the National Youth Service Corps of Nigeria, who are of Biafran origin have expressed dismay over the "slave" nature of the one year service to the Nigerian government which is expected of every Nigerian graduate.

Describing Nigeria as an "expired country" that is not worth their services,  the NYSC members who spoke to Family Writers in an exclusive interview stated that the one year compulsory exercise has not yielded any positive result ever since its inception in 1973, which is testament to the level divison and regional animosity that has bewildered the country ever since.

They noted that the Nigerian government have done little or nothing to secure the lives and well being of thousands of graduates who are being unleashed unto all sorts of hostile environment prone to ethnic/religious violence, electoral violence and discrimination.
They however declared their unreserved solidarity towards the Biafra restoration project, and the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, even as they urged President Buhari to obey court orders and release the IPOB leader.

"There is no joy in wearing this NYSC cloth, the organisers knew that no reasonable youth will enroll for this kind of life threatening exercise characterised with sufferings and abandonment, hence they decided to make it compulsory for us, if you don't do it, nobody will employ you in the country." one of NYSC members who also pleaded anonymity stated.

"We're being forced to serve an expired country," another vibrant young man added
"Nothing is working in this country, hatred everywhere, bigot and corrupt leaders, violence- just name it,
"Imagine being posted to somewhere one person will wake up one morning and chop off your head because he lost election or because of religion.
"The best thing is to divide this country, because there's no spirit of nationhood that binds the citizens together." they said.

Speaking on  their support for Biafra restoration and solidarity to Nnamdi Kanu, one of the corps members said
"Yes, we support the restoration of Biafra, not only Biafra, we also support the restoration of Arewa and Oduduwa as independent countries.
"President Buhari should obey court orders and release our leader, Nnamdi Kanu because there is  nowhere in the world where self determination is a crime. The call for Biafra is legitimate."
