THE EMERGENCE OF BIAFRA INDIGENOUS COUNCIL OF ELDERS (BICOE) IS A WELCOME DEVELOPMENT - SAYS IPOB

There is this very heartwarming news reportage that has been trending since Friday 25th May 2018 in Biafraland, concerning the emergence of a body of reputable Elders Council in Biafraland. Credible information gathered by the Family Writers Press Correspondent detailed to cover the Elders' convention, reported that the urgency of the formation of this Council was precipitated by the need to give the Biafran people, adequate representation on evolving developments with some external powers. As expected, there will soon be a visitation to Biafraland with the purpose of parleying with trusted Biafran opinion leaders and men of honor, regarding the increasing and uncompromising demand for Biafra referendum.

The Elders Council at the end of their convention, eventually emerged with name, "BIAFRA INDIGENOUS COUNCIL OF ELDERS", following exhaustive sessions of intensive deliberations on suitable nomenclature which they would be identified with. During the convention that  took place in Port Harcourt (Igweocha), the Elders Council solemnly vowed to stand in synergy behind the Biafra restoration effort until the much needed referendum is conducted. The Elders pointedly stated that there existed before now, no such Council that is overwhelmingly accepted besides ethnic inclinations in Biafraland. They emphasized that the  move was initiated after due consultations and mobilizations of elders from all the tribes within the Biafran territory which culminated on Friday 25th May 2018, as a body. This reputable organization assured Biafrans the world over, of their desire and preparedness in whatever circumstance, to pursue the overwhelming goal of Biafra referendum.

The Elders Council thereby solicited for support and cooperation from every Biafran for the total realization of their mandate. They noted that gone are the days when elders of diverse Biafra tribes were divided and even seen as enemies to one another, as occasioned by the "divide and rule" policies of the Nigerian oppressors. They equally gave the assurance that they will assiduously work with credible and people-oriented, Biafra restoration- driven, non-partisan socio-cultural organizations within Biafraland such as Pan-Niger Delta Elders Forum (PANDEF), Eastern Consultative Assembly (ECA), Ala-Igbo Development Foundation (ADF), Igbo Leaders of Thought (ILT) amongst others. The Elders further maintained that now is the set time to adamantly and collectively speak the truth. Every ethnic nationality in the land has the inalienable right therefore, to withdraw or make any replacement of representatives from the Biafra Indigenous Council of Elders (BICOE) as their emergence was purely birthed through the wise resolutions and mandates of their communities and ethnic nations.

In his contact on the development with Family Writers Press, the Media and Publicity Secretary of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide, Comrade Emma Powerful, the IPOB, he stated, is ready and willing to partner with the Biafra Indigenous Council of Elders (BICOE), which respectfully consulted with the IPOB prior to it's convention in Port Harcourt. The IPOB leadership gave them assurances of  support and cooperation in the Biafra restoration project. Although IPOB is not imposing it's program of activities on the Elders Council, Comrade Emma Powerful promised them that their organization will never be teleguided. He advised them to be wary of political inducements and other acts of betrayal that will inhibit set objectives.

The Family Writers Press hereby assures the Elders Council of all necessary assistance in disseminating required information to the global community about it's activities in the Biafra restoration struggle.

  1. Yes. They should be wary of 'the yoke of the thieves called Ohaneze"". No half measures - Biafra and Biafra alone is the agenda. Good development
