The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Enugu, formally inaugurated a new unit on Sunday 26th August 2018, at Ekwegbe in Igboetiti local government area, Enugu Province, Biafraland.

The inauguration commenced at about 1:40pm Biafra time with opening prayers led by Mazi Onyebuchi Ugwu. The Enugu North Senatorial District Coordinator, Mazi Chukwudi Ogbu addressing the house, outlined guidelines for the procedure. Attendees included the state executives of the IPOB.

The coordinator of Igboetiti local government area, Mazi Sunday Ezia gave his opening address preceding the formal introduction of executive members of both the Senatorial district and the state present. Oath of allegiance was accordingly administered following an order of importance raised to that effect by the Senatorial District Coordinator. Relevant questions were equally raised about the implication of the oath taking, with satisfactory answers given. It was emphatically stated that the primary purpose of establishing and administering the oath was to stem acts of sabotage and insubordination. Some of the community youths present who felt ineligible for the exercise (oath taking) due to undisclosed reasons, quietly left the venue even before the inauguration commenced. This act could be attributed to their love and passion for the peanuts they derive from Nigerian politics.

Following the oath taking however, were some educative/enlightenment speeches delivered by some of the IPOB officials. Mazi Egwuatu Chutz made it vividly clear to the family that the "Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a large family even globally, does not work with multitudes but rather, determined and committed individuals who cherish the Biafra restoration struggle and are readily prepared to make sacrifices as required in freedom fighting; mentally, physically, spiritually, financially, etcetera. He drew the attention of the family members to the statement of our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu when he clearly stated that "Only one hundred men who are doggedly dedicated with the required and uncompromising sacrifices will restore Biafra. And with the evolving developments, the prophesies of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu have been proven", he further maintained.

The women leader of IPOB Enugu State, Mrs. Ifeoma Chukwuokikeabiama, also emphasized on the need to extend the principle of oath adminstration to every location where there exists IPOB family units, to strengthen the commitment of our membership.

Enugu North Senatorial district coordinator, Igboetiti local government area coordinator and Mazi Egwuatu Chutz jointly handled the education of the brethren on the importance of IPOB families towards the  Biafra restoration project.

The local government area coordinator in his wisdom, appointed Mazi Ikechukwu Peter as the coordinator of the newly inaugurated Unit while Mazi Ugwu Chidera deputizes. Copies of official oath guide and the United Nations charter, spelling out the rights to self-determination by indigenous people groups, were duly handed over to the newly appointed unit coordinator.

Series of relevant contributions were made by members on the way forward. Mazi Ikechukwu Peter expressing thanks, appreciated all for the successful event. The newly inaugurated IPOB unit was thus given birth to following the initial contacts for expansion established a couple of weeks ago between Mazi Godspower Peter Iyke, the unit coordinator and Mazi Egwuatu Chutz.

Up Biafra!
