It was an atmosphere charged with joy in Akwu area of Achi in Oji River Province as a family zone of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was successfully inaugurated.

The event kicked off at 3:30pm with opening prayer led by Pastor Barnabas C. Benjamin. This was followed by official introduction of members and principal officers according to their respective positions of assignment.

The opening speech was delivered by the Enugu West Senatorial district coordinator, Mazi Agu Matthew. He commended the efforts of the local government coordinator as well as the Oji River Women Leader, Mrs. Bridget Chinenye on the preparation of the inauguration. On his part, the local government coordinator duly welcomed all the participating dignitaries who turned up for physically honoring their invitation for the event. The jurisdiction of the zone was fully explained.

In the course of the inauguration, some of the zonal elders gave appreciation for the tenacious efforts made by the Oji River Women Leader, Mrs. Justina Ezeabia. They eulogised her for her commitment in bringing to birth, the establishment of the IPOB family in Akwu-Achi, in Enugu. The women leader was thereby generally applauded.

Upgrades on IPOB standard, code of conduct, modus  operandi and structure were highlighted by Mazi Egwuatu Chukz during question and answer section. The section was really interactive as issues bordering on the sensitization of the people towards the upcoming Biafra referendum were exhaustively discussed.

The required oath of allegiance for IPOB membership was administered with vivid explanations made on the implications. The newly inaugurated zone was fully incorporated into the IPOB family having met with all the requirements. Executives were equally appointed to pilot the affairs of the zone and committedly entrusted into the hands of Chukwuokike Abiama (God Almighty) for wisdom and guidance. The zone was however mandated to carry out evangelism outreach programs within it's jurisdiction for the creation of additional zones within the next six weeks for inauguration.

Rounding up, members were treated to rounds of mouth watering refreshments and snap shots of group photographs.
