DO NOT SOLICIT MY RETURN TO BURY MY LATE MOTHER, I DID NOT SEND YOU .....MAZI NNAMDI KANU

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has reacted to the news making rounds on different social media platforms, suggesting that some monarchs are pleading with the Nigerian government to grant him pardon and allow him to return home to bury his late mother. He strongly rejected this during a live interview last Saturday being 27th October 2019, on Voice Of America (VOA), in Washington DC.

He pointedly stated: "I did not send or beg anyone to lobby the federal government of Nigeria on my behalf and will never do that. And even if such a request is granted, I will not honor it because the cabals in Aso Rock are not to dictate things for me. What I can assure you is that my mother must be buried. When she was alive, she told me to do everything within my power to restore Biafra. I may attend her burial or I may not but certainly, the burial must be done".

The mother of the IPOB leader, Lolo Ugoeze Sally Mmeme Okwu-Kanu, died on Friday 30th August 2019 after a protracted battle with ill health which resulted from the criminal invasion and gruesome attack in her home on the 14th of September 2017, by a contingent of the Nigerian military. Killed in that attack, were more than twenty eight (28) unarmed young Biafrans and properties worth millions of US dollars, wantonly destroyed. She eventually passed on in a German Hospital where she was receiving treatment.
