Python Dance And The Conspiracy Of Igbo Leaders

Python Dance And The Conspiracy Of Igbo Leaders

By Elochukwu Nicholas Ohagi
For Family Writers Press International.

It is a horrible evening on September 17, 2017. I have already seen the spinning news of the Nigeria media. They said there is a face-off between Nigeria Military and IPOB members in Afara Ukwu Ibeku, the home of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. I immediately logged into my Facebook account and saw that it is actually an unprovoked attack from the Nigeria Army. Suddenly, Nigeria Army have relocated their base to Nnamdi Kanu's house for their show of force. They kept trying to make it into the palace of the father of the IPOB leader, but were stopped by the barricade bodies of IPOB members who stood firmly at the gate without any weapon.

IPOB Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had just been granted bail with some outrageous bail conditions. He has already proclaimed that President Buhari is dead right inside his father's house. And this attracted the government who made every effort to silence him once and for all. The truthfulness of that claim came staring Nigerians face to face two years after. But that is not what this article is about.

I am of the opinion that, irrespective of how Nigeria is structured, no federal government can go after peaceful youths of any region without the concent or approval of the leaders of the said region. So there is no how Nigeria government can set out to kill IPOB Leader and his followers without the governors, Ohanaeze and notable political elites in Igbo land giving such plan a nod of approval. That is because they won't keep silent should you go down to slaughter their sons and daughters.

The South East leaders signed and approved the Python Dance 1, 2 & 3. They first cleared the way with the proscription of IPOB in the entire Igbo land. The proscription has already proved to the world that IPOB is a dangerous group, so it is important that the federal government comes in. If Igbo leaders can proscribe them, it simply means they are a threat to the society. That is common sense. If you are intelligent enough, and can use your God given common sense properly, you will know that the proscription is an invitation to the federal government. In other words, it is a planned deal.

Prior to that Python Dance massacre, IPOB is just a group using peaceful protest to demand for referendum for Biafra. So tell me what offence that necessitated the proscription by the South East leaders. Also, IPOB leader has been in and out of meetings with the leaders in South East. So tell me what warranted the killings that happened after.

Some unscrupulous people have tried to blame only the APC Federal government for the killings of many IPOB members during that unholy raid and consequent massacre. It is not entirely true. They did it with the backup of Igbo leaders.
Remember that the entire leadership of Igbo land were completely silent throughout period of the massacre. Not even one of them raised a voice as Nigeria military rained bullets on innocent youths. Youths they ought to be their father and provide maximum protection unto. You cannot condemn what you approved. It  became unreasonable for Ohanaeze to raise a voice in condemnation of what they actually plotted together, approved and supported.

A source confided that a top Ohanaeze leadership got an empty land and thousands of dollars just after the python dance. A reward for a job well done. But one thing that is certain is that Igbo leaders are totally compromised. Who could have known that the great Zik Of Africa was blackmailed by the British government to go into a coalition with the North? He could have told the Igbo people of those days that it is about the interest of Ndị Igbo to form a coalition with the North, and people would believe him, without knowing that it serves the interests of the North and Britain.

I am not surprised that South East governors, including Ohanaeze are silent in the face of Fulani herdsmen massacre of Ndị Igbo. Just yesterday, a man was butchered in Enugu state. That's after they cut a young girl into pieces and kidnapped another in Anambra. Yet those claiming to be leaders are all silent.
Those that supposed to task their leaders to do something are preoccupied with a rhetoric that asked the people to stone Nnia Nwodo for his silence as Fulani herdsmen keep killing ndị Igbo. Today, we can't farm in our own land due to the fear of the Fulani herdsmen.

Igbo leaders have blood on their hands. The blood of IPOB members they conspired and killed. How do you expect people to respect such leaders? How?
