South-East Leaders Beg President Muhammadu Buhari

South-East Leaders Beg President Muhammadu Buhari

The leaders of the South-East region of Nigeria made some demands to the Presidential delegation led by the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari. He met with the governors, members of the National Assembly and Federal Ministers from the region among others, at the Government House in Enugu. Leaders of various groups in the zone also demanded for the creation of additional States in the South-East geo-political zone in the spirit of equity and justice as well as the urgent construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of all federal roads within the area.

Also demanded are equitable representation of the people in the country's security architecture involving the five Service Chiefs, Immigration and Inspector General of Police. Inclusive in their demands was also the disarming of the killer herdsmen operating with AK-47 riffles. This act is purely cowardly, a disgusting mark of absurdity, insanity and irrationality. This has shown how useless and fainthearted these so-called leaders are, yet they claim they are representing the masses. They are begging the President to create more States in the South-East as if the President does not know that South-East has only five States. They quite clearly have seen the pathetic hatred the man they call their President has for the people. He has no human heart and so, will not listen to them.

They also pleaded President Buhari to look at the security architecture of the country and include the people of the South-East; and I ask “why would one ask for his/her constitutional right”? Does one need to beg a constitutionally elected President to look into the lopsided nature of his country's security arrangement? Is the man not aware of the federal character system? Is the man not aware that in the security architecture of the country, the South-East does not have a representative? Do we need to beg for our rights? We claim to be part of this contraption called Nigeria, but mainly looking at the structure, one could find out that the South-East people are just mere slaves to the Fulanis. For these men to be begging the President for their constitutional rights, is an act of cowardice and disgrace of the highest order.

They further begged the President to disarm the killer Fulani herdsmen operating with AK-47 riffles in the South-East. I must commend them for even knowing that the terrorist "Fulani herdsmen" are operating in the region, but begging the President to disarm them is like seeing a man raping your mother and you are begging him to leave her and still go ahead to show him your sister with whom to carry on with the dastardly act. Everyday we read on newspapers and on social media, how these terrorists are terrorizing, maiming, killing, raping, destroying people’s crops in the South-East and yet, the men who call themselves our leaders are begging the President to disarm them. My questions to these leaders are: Have they now believed that Fulani herdsmen are terrorists? Have they all agreed that the Fulani herdsmen are the problem we have in the South-East and not the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) or Mazi Nnamdi Kanu? Have they realized that the herdsmen are terrorists and not IPOB that were concoctedly proscribed?

These leaders also in their shamelessness, also begged the President to allow them produce the the next Nigerian President come 2023. This is the highest joke of the century. I wonder how the Northern cabals or President Buhari himself will allow a Biafran to be the President of Nigeria, quite impossible. One thing is assured, the Northern Fulanis will never give you President nor agree to restructure Nigeria and you are not going to do anything and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. You are just grumbling and murmuring.

At the end of the meeting it was gathered that the Governor of Ebonyi State and Chairman of the South-East Governors’ Forum, Engineer David Umahi, presented a communiqué on behalf of the zone stating that “we therefore, with humility, request our President, the father of our nation, to please look into the demands of the various groups of our people as presented today, review same with a view to solving them”. This is a pure statement of a coward.

Let me tell you, men do not ask for their rights or beg for what rightly belongs to them but rather take them. Freedom is taken and not given and unless you know this, you will forever be a slave and an errand boy to this bunch of uneducated Northerners.
