The Insensitivity Of Those Supporting South East Leaders

The Insensitivity Of Those Supporting South East Leaders

By Elochukwu Nicholas Ohagi
For Family Writers Press International.

To start with: Should Ohanaeze keep quiet as Fulani herdsmenin less than two months murder more than 10 Ndị Igbo, including women whom they cut into pieces?

Should governors, senators and house of representatives members keep mute?

Will these defenders still find their voice if their own daughter, sister or any family member get cut into pieces by Fulani herdsmen?

We should try and answer these questions. I had tried to excuse these people defending Ohanaeze and Southeast governors in a bid to understand them, yet I can't understand.

I have followed most of them both on Twitter and Facebook, and I found out that those defending these irresponsible elders have many followers. It means they were recruited to do what they are doing. You see why they should not be ignored. They are recruits.

How can people stand with leaders who do nothing as their people are kidnapped, raped and massacred? What does it take Ohanaeze to at least issue a statement? Demand that the do nothing and see nothing governors wake from slumber and do something? We are not asking Ohanaeze to go and fight the Fulani herdsmen. Are we insane? Who tells old people to go and physically confront AK47 fully armed Fulani herdsmen terrorists? The fight is that of the youths, but the elders must do their very important part in a time like this.

To tackle the atrocities of Fulani herdsmen in Yoruba land, Yoruba leaders thought deeply and came out with Amotekun. Some governors in the West made a law criminalizing open grazing by herdsmen. Tell me why Yoruba youths won't respect such elders.

But in Igbo land, we have hopeless and senseless leaders who would rather place 500,000 Naira bounty on the head of every Igbo man killed by Fulani Herdsmen. We have leaders who would proudly tell Ndị Igbo that they should rather kill them before they can kill any Fulani herder killing and raping them. These type of leaders are what these integrity-challenged individuals are asking us to respect.

Yul Edochie made this comment via his Twitter handle:
"If a man slaps you and instead of slapping him back you rather go and punch your own brother for not speaking for you.
The man will realize that you are a big coward and he’ll slap you again and again.
Ndi Igbo wake up.
Stop fighting yourselves, fight your enemies," he tweeted.
His tweet was as a result of the demands made by IPOB Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu over the dormancy of Ohaneze leadership. Can you now see how insane some of these celebrities can be. Can Yul Edochie tell us what is the work of leaders in a society? How is asking leaders to speak out translate to fighting them? What about asking leaders that cannot defend their people to resign?

What is the work of Ohanaeze if not to protect the interest of the people? Why then are they silent as terrorists keep killing us?
What is the primary work of the south east governors, if not to protect lives and properties? Can you now see how insane those supporting these leaders are?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu that speaks for all, including Biafrans and both Nigeria Christians and Muslims is whom these people are fighting.
The good news is that they are in the minority and the majority of the people are with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

You simply need to advice these leaders to speak out or face the full unstoppable wrath of the people.
