The suicide bomber targeting a member of the Civilian JTF at the entrance of a market at Ramirgo village in Askira/Uba Local Government Area detonated explosive devices which killed four people, a member of the vigilance group who participated in rescue operation told Sunday Sun by phone.
“A suicide bomber attacked our checkpoint at the entrance of the market and blew himself up with four others, and damaged two of our patrol vehicles. We’ve removed four corpses and those injured to Uba General Hospital,” the CJTF member who did not want to be named said.
But Borno State Commissioner of Police, Mr Aderemi Opadokun while confirming the bomb attack in a phone message, put the casualty figure at three.
“About 1045hrs on 15/8/15, there was IED explosion at Ramirgo village in Askira/Uba LGA when a suspected suicide bomber detonated IED strapped to his body near the market. Three persons including the suicide bomber died on the spot while two others were injured. Injured victims were evacuated to General hospital Uba town and investigation in progress,” he said.
