Police have banned The Indigenous People of Biafra within the state

The activities of the Movement of Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra MOSSOB, and the Indigenous People of Biafra have been banned within the state. The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hosea Karma, announced this during a familiarization tour of Police Divisions within the Onitsha Area Command. Ekwu Ajide has the rest of the story. The Police Commissioner who frowned at the activities of the bodies, assured residents of the area of the readiness of the police to safeguard their lives and property. He warned members of the movement to desist from their notorious activities as the full weight of the law will fall on anybody caught for making trouble in the state. Commissioner Karma listed extortion of levies from traders and builders within the localities, forceful dispossession of belongings from residents and promotion of cultism as some of the activities of the group. He disclosed that so far, about forty-six of them are already in the police net. In their separate speeches, the Onitsha area Commander, Mr. Philip Ezekiel and the Divisional Police Officer, Fegge Police, Mr. Rabiu Garba, stressed that the police is working assiduously to ensure that the crime rate in Onitsha metropolis is drastically reduced. Commending the officers for their efforts at combating crime some residents of the area, including Sirs Jasper Okpalafuluaku and Godwin Okeke, Chiefs Barth Eli and Chris Eluemuno charged them to continue the good work they have been doing in the state with the total support of the Governor.
