FAMILY WRITERS/BIAFRA JOURNALIST INTERVIEW WITH GENERAL JOSEPH ACHUZIE "THE AIR RAIDS"

FAMILY WRITERS/BIAFRA JOURNALIST INTERVIEW WITH GENERAL JOSEPH ACHUZIE "THE AIR RAIDS"

Family writers with General Achuzie
IFEANYI CHIJIOKE, IBEH GIFT AMARACHI, CHIMA ONYEKACHI, BLESSED ORJI, CHISOM DAVID & SOMTO:

The Family Writers/Biafra Journalist under IPOB,made their way to Asaba Delta State the Hometown of General Achuzie and had a Three Hours exposing and innovating interview with him. General Achuzie is a Galant and Fearless Biafran, who left Nigeria Army as a Colonel, before he joined the Biafran Army where he was made a Biafran Army General. He hails from Asaba in present Delta State. He was indeed a Fearless and Brave Biafran Soldier whose unbeatable way of handling The Air Raids gave him the nickname "THE AIR RAIDS" and his colleagues in Biafra Army nicknamed him "HANIBALS".

IS TO ACHIEVE BIAFRA OR HOW BIAFRA WILL BE ACHIEVED A PRIORITY TO YOU?

There are two ways of achieving things; One Spiritually and the other Pursuit. To me, Biafra has been spiritually anchored, but we haven't been able to grasp it because of the divisiveness weakened with beneficiary of Biafra. So asking me how I was expecting Biafra to come is almost like asking me, do you believe in Biafra? If I don't believe in Biafra, I would have jettisoned it long ago. I wrote a Book "REQUIEM BIAFRA" when I was in detention for Seven years over Biafra, I wasn't the only officer that fought in Biafra, but I was the only Officer that dared to bring the war to an end. For daring to stop Nigeria from exterminating Biafrans, it became the penalty of seven years in detention. Do you think that having sojourned so far, that I will give up the quest? NO. When I came out of detention, Olusegun Obasanjo and the Nigeria Government tried to bribe me to give up the quest, but I said to them "NO". I told them that all I want is to be allowed to go home and amend my broken faces. Amending ones broken faces means a lot. It also means that there are people who didn't want you to exist and all they want is to destroy you. I had to tell the Federal Government of Nigeria categorically that I am aware of why they sent me into detention for Seven Years, so no amount of Money or Anything will ameliorate the condition, since they subjected my people to penury. Because while I was in detention they promulgated a Law that denied Biafrans from their rights, some were millionaires but were reduced to penury, when they said nobody from Biafran enclave will receive anything above Twenty Pounds and it was Biafrans who were the captains of industries within the Indian and Lebanese Companies. They sold the Companies to both the Yorubas and Northerners who had the Money, because the South-Easterners only had Twenty pounds.

General Achuzie
YOU SAID ABADONING THE QUEST FOR BIAFRA BY BIAFRANS OF THIS GENERATION IS COWARDICE, HOW DO YOU SEE MAZI NNAMDI KANU AGITATING FOR THE RESTORATION OF BIAFRA?

The Truth is that you Young ones of this Generation cannot differentiate between the Nigeria of today, from the Nigeria of the past. The Nigeria of the past said "IF BULLET CAN NOT KILL THEM, LET HUNGER KILL THEM". I repeat "IF BULLET CAN NOT KILL THEM, LET HUNGER KILL THEM". Nnamdi Kanu is still a young man; he hasn't gone the extra mile. In the issue of Nnamdi Kanu, everyone will attempt to approach it. I want Nnamdi Kanu released and my reason is different. To me NNAMDI KANU IS A CATALYST TO THE BIAFRA QUEST. His present condition is unfortunate.  Nnamdi Kanu advanced the Biafra quest; I must tell you that without fear.  He announced the course, at his own expense. He sacrificed himself for this struggle, but you don't sacrifice yourself without telling your community about it. Nnamdi Kanu's supporters must not relent in their efforts of demonstration. All I ask as I told the Commissioner of Police of Anambra and Imo State let them sheath their swords. If anybody decides to destroy things, the demonstrators should pick him up and hand him over to the Police that way peaceful demonstration will continue.

YOU SAID THERE IS A DIFFRENCE BETWEEN PAST NIGERIA FROM PRESENT NIGERIA AND AS WELL SAID STOPPING THE AGITATION OF BIAFRA IS COWARDICE. IF THERE IS A DIFFRENCE BETWEEN THE NIGERIA OF TODAY AND THAT OF THE PAST SHOULD WE STOP OR CONTINUE AGITATING FOR BIAFRA?

Thank you. If you read the article I wrote in the Sun,i took my time to craft it, because I realized and anticipated this type of question. In 1966 and 1967 the structure of Nigeria changed, whereby the South-Easterners were forced to go back to South-East, not minding how much money, how much Wealth, How many building or structures you have in the North. If you stay, they will kill you. You will be slaughtered like a Lamb. All the Northerners were crying "ARABA ARABA" meaning "LET'S DIVIDE,LET'S DIVIDE". For we who were in the South-East we said, everybody should forget what they have and come back, because Life is more important. That was how your Fathers, Grandfathers came back home to the East empty handed. They were also asked to come back because on their arriving to the East, they were no longer Refugees that was the situation. This is also attributed to the Jews who suffered pogrom during the Second World War. The German exercise was made to exterminate the Jews. And the exercise in Northern and Western Nigeria was meant to exterminate the South-South and Easterners. We arrived home and instead of leaving us alone, they said it was Cowardice that we ran away. Gowon and his group decided that they will exterminate us and because they said it confidently, we termed it "A POLICE ACTION”, but instead of the Police, they sent their Army to carry war into our Homes. Even then we placed it as a condition that, we must not carry war back and we never did. Your Fathers and Grandfathers were the ones who proclaimed Biafra, because you cannot create an Army called Eastern-Region, while the other side calls itself Nigeria Army. So we had to remind ourselves of our Legendary name BIAFRA. Some 14th century, Biafra was established in Eastern region, covering part of Cameroun. That was why Nnamdi Azikiwe named his organization NCNC covering Southern Cameroun. I wish our Historians will document the proper history of Nigeria. In an attempt to answer your question, our people will always defend the quest for Biafra, is up to the Biafrans of this generation.

ACCORDING TO E247REPORT A FACTION OF DSS SAID NNAMDI KANU IS INNOCENT OF THE CHARGES AGAINST HIM, WHILST THE OTHER FACTION THAT CONSTITUENT MORE OF NORTHERNERS ARE CAMPAIGNING FOR HIM TO BE NAILED DOWN. WHAT IS YOUR TAKE, ON THIS NEGATIVE ACTION BY HAUSA/FULANI?

There is an adage that says; "KILL MY SON, MY EYES ARE THERE". No Father will allow any group to kill his Son. In the meeting held by the Governors, they did not understand what is on ground. I made a statement to the press and said as long as you are holding Nnamdi Kanu, the demonstration continues, for the demonstration to stop, there must be a dialogue. Because I said the must be a dialogue, the gladiators from different field, jumped into the matter that they are the ones who should be approached over the issue, that gave rise to the decision of the Governors that a committee should be set up to talk to from IPOB and MASSOB.

WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON OHANEZE NDIGBO AND THE AGITATION FOR BIAFRA?

I used to be the Secretary of Ohaneze Ndigbo, but since i handed over,Ohaneze has never been the same again. Ohaneze is not working towards the agitation and restoration of Biafra, because Ohaneze Ndigbo have been politicized.  As far as I am concerned, Traditional rulers are agents of Governors placed in the State by the constitution.

WHAT IS YOUR POSITION IN MASSOB? I inaugurated Massob in Washington DC and General Chukwuemeka Ojukwu was the one who sent me to, inaugurate Massob. After the inauguration I handed it over to Uwazuruike but unfortunately he misused it, I will advice the demonstrators not to relent in their demonstrations and in my Life time, Biafra will come..  I repeat in my Life time, Biafra will come.
