Nigerian N6.07trn 2016 Budget a fraud said House of Representatives
Nigerian House of Representatives has described the corrected version of N6.07 trillion 2016 Budget proposal presented to the National Assembly as fraud.
Some of the lawmakers, who stated this yesterday, also described the N795m for website update and N536m to link cables from drivers’ rest rooms and guest houses to the Villa by the federal government as fraud. The lawmakers also told President Muhammadu Buhari to apologise to Nigerians for the embarrassment the country suffered in the eyes of the international communities over the alleged smuggling of the budget to the National Assembly.
The Reps expressed displeasure with the budget during the debate on the Appropriation Bill, even as they accused the government of corruption.
In his contribution, Hon Johnson Agbonayinma representing Egor, Ikpoba Okha Federal Constituency of Edo State, explained that he did not see the first budget presented to the
House by President Buhari, adding thatit was his right to know the contents of the first budget document.
He insisted that the president should apologise to the nation over the embarrassment the alleged smuggling of the budget document caused the country.
