MAY 5TH: NNAMDI KANU COURT OF APPEAL CASE SET TO TAKE OFF

MAY 5TH: NNAMDI KANU COURT OF APPEAL CASE SET TO TAKE OFF

Once again, Nnamdi Kanu is set to appear in the Court of Appeal in Abuja on the 5th of May after the case was adjourned on the 25th of April 2016. The appeal court, on Monday, April 25 had to adjourn the said case because Nnamdi Kanu case file was not brought to court for the hearing. Kanu is being tried alongside two others, David Nwawusi and Benjamin Madubugwu on charges bordering on treasonable felony, unlawful possession of firearms and the management of an unlawful society.

The appellants have accused the trial judge, Justice James Tsoho of the Federal High Court in Abuja of prejudice. They had approached the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal asking for an order to compel the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta, to withdraw the case from

Justice Tsoho and re-assign it to another judge. Kanu accused Justice Tosho of disposition after the judge went against his own ruling to allow that witnesses in the trial would testify behind a shield thereby hiding the witnesses identity from the members of the public.

Justice Aseimo Moore Adumen is the presiding judge over the court of appeal case.

Stay tuned as Family Writers Reporters will bring you live updates from court of appeal, Abuja.
