There is a race on ground and everybody is running to win the race, the prize is huge and more than a diamond. The winner will gain immortality and gain immeasurable love. Losers in the race fight jealously to stop others till they gain participation again, and sometimes they fight dirty. This race is a race for the heart of Biafra and that heart of Biafra is who takes advantage of the impending release of Nnamdi Kanu. The no-go area in this race is negotiation because Biafra is not negotiable.
Whoever takes the advantage will go a long way whether Biafra is restored now or not, he would indeed be the hero of the people. Such man if he contests for anything in Biafra or in Nigeria, he would gain votes that will overflow. It’s a laurel and the winner will take it all, while some have reached the line but failed on crossing it, some others are approaching with different color and number. Nnamdi Kanu will be released but the question is who takes the glory.
Nnamdi Kanu has done nothing and everything is against his detention, he is a prisoner of conscience and to save the day, he must be released. There is an opportunity to release Nnamdi and oppose Biafra and there is also the opportunity to detain Nnamdi Kanu and restore Biafra. The world will be talking, Biafrans will keep protesting, questions will keep coming based on why is that man being detained. Nnamdi Kanu is either released as Nnamdi Kanu or released as the Prime minister of Biafra. Upon his continued detention, we Biafrans will use the pace already set by those that detained him and restore Biafra by fire by force.
This race is responsible for the continued detention of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, some want to run the race with deceit while some are poised to show their strength. There have been contradictions and contraventions; all in a bid to make sure the race goes as planned. The race that ought to have ended in December with the judiciary winning, Buhari overruled the judiciary and returned the finished race to start. There is now a pressure and soft landing is being looked for, the Indigenous people of Biafra will not stop protesting and neither will Niger Delta Avengers stop if their number seventh demand is not met.
The judiciary to win this race is the best shot it can be given, Nigeria signed the 2007 declaration on the right of Indigenous people which gives right to self-determination. The Judiciary should be allowed to flaunt her power by interpreting the matter before her. Buhari can also win this race by allowing the judiciary in his administration to freely adjudicate on the matter. It is a very much open matter that we know about. Freedom of speech cannot rightly cause conviction. While on the other hand, Buhari can let go Nnamdi Kanu because he peacefully and legally went about his agitation.
Finally, this race should be embraced with the spirit of a sportsman, who at the end of a sport embraces and thank everybody. There is no need lingering on this matter that holds no water, let the needful be done. The race has come to an end and a winner should not emerge, let justice win it all. Nobody is stopping whoever wants to win the heart of Biafra but let it be done with sincerity and with the knowledge that Biafra is not negotiable. Continued incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu has no negative effect on Biafra and neither will it stop Biafra restoration. The People of Biafra are protesting and demanding Kanu’s release simply because of the love we have for him. Kanu’s continued incarceration is a move on course and to the restoration of Biafra.
