NNAMDI KANU GOES TO COURT ON THE 20TH OF JUNE

The leader of the indigenous people of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu would be appearing in the federal high Court Abuja, on the 20th of June 2016. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is answering to a biased six-count treason charge the federal government of Nigeria, under Justice John Tsoho who not only declined to grant them bail, but also permitted the prosecution to shield the identity of eight witnesses billed to testify against the accused after he initially rejected the application for shielded witness, making his rulings in-acquiescent.

Kanu who was illegally arrested by officials of Department of State Security Service (DSS) on the 14 of October 2015, in Lagos, Nigeria, is being tried on charges of treasonable felony alongside two other Biafra agitators, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi by the Federal Government Nigeria. Both Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi have been both acquitted and release by the federal high court. Justice Tosho though dented the bail application of Nnamdi Kanu, shortly after president Buhari publicly said that the judiciary had no power over his government, stating clearly that the accused won't be granted bail. Justice Tsoho also accepted the argument of the prosecution that the activities of the defendants constitute threat to national security. He also noted that the

offence of the treasonable felony, Nnamdi Kanu and the other two co- accused are charged with attracts life imprisonment as punishment and is prejudicial to national security. The FG of Nigeria also alleged that the accused persons are managing the affairs of the IPOB as ‘’an unlawful society’’.

President Buhari who so keen on labelling the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra, Nnamdi kanu a terrorist and IPOB a terrorist organisation, is doing so simply because Nnamdi Kanu and his people (Biafrans) are seeking for self determination in accordance with United Nations charter on the right of ingenious people . It’s been almost a year Nnamdi Kanu have been unlawfully arrested, tortured and illegally imprisoned by president Buhari.  Mr. Buhari has vowed that he will shed more Biafrans blood to keep Nigeria as one. Over 4000 unarmed Biafran protesters have been killed and over 2000 brutally injured in a year into Buhari's administration. Amnesty International recently confirmed the unjust killings of over 50 Biafrans in Anambra state by the Nigeria armed forces after they completed their investigations that led to the unjust killings of unarmed Biafrans.

Human rights international, United Nations and the British government have deliberately kept silent of the detention of Nnamdi kanu and the brutal killings of thousands of Biafrans by the Nigeria armed forces acting on a direct order from Buhari.

Stay tuned on the 20th of June as Family writers bring you live updates.....
