MAZI NNAMDI KANU VS NIGERIA AT C.C.J OF ECOWAS, WILL JUSTICE PREVAILS?

MAZI NNAMDI KANU VS NIGERIA AT C.C.J OF ECOWAS, WILL JUSTICE PREVAILS?

Mazi Nnamdi Okwu Kanu, the Director of Radio Biafra and Biafra TV  will be facing the Federal Government of Nigeria led by tyrant Buhari at the Community Court of Justice (C.C.J) of the Economic Committee of West African States (ECOWAS) on 5th of October 2016, following the suit filed against the Nigerian State by Mazi Kanu's legal team led  by Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor in May 2015.

The question here is: will justice prevail? Or will C.C.J of ECOWAS do the biding of President Muhammadu Buhari led government?

We all have been following the case against Mazi Kanu right from the Magistrate Court to the Federal High Court , he has been granted bail twice but was denied by the DSS . These are all delay tactics to find a judge to do their bidding which is to jail Kanu even if he was found innocent. Meanwhile, they found one who was Justice John Tsoho who already started the job given to him by his master Buhari.

I have observed, ever since the case started, that when it is few days to Mazi Kanu's case, President Buhari would make a statement, and then Justice John Tsoho will read the same or similar statement as ruling. Example of this was the media chat by Mr. President where he said if Kanu were to be granted bail he would commit the same offence and Justice John Tsoho stated same as a reason for not granting Kanu bail. The offense they were talking about he committed was to possess dual citizenship and coming to Nigeria with no passport. This, no fault would make one begin to wonder if this Buhari has suddenly become both the immigration officer and the judge. Another question is: how possible is it for someone to travel from Europe to Africa without his passport?

The  Nigerian Constitution in its Section 36 (5) (6) guarantees the arrested and detained citizens their inalienable rights to fair hearing including access to their lawyers and families and presumption of innocence until found guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction, but Justice John Tsoho and President Buhari have already declared Mazi Kanu guilty of the offence he is being tried for, even before court ruling.
The disobedience to court orders and the confidence in ECOWAS court formed the basis the legal team of Mazi Kanu filed a suit against the Nigerian State for human rights violation.

I am proud of C.C.J of ECOWAS for ignoring the threats by Muhammadu Buhari, having resolved to hear the case filed by Kanu's legal team. I am confident that justice will prevail at last. Nigeria does not have regard for rule of law and that killed the hope for the common man. The Indigenous People of Biafra   worldwide still insist Muhammadu Buhari should obey court orders and release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally.
