BIAFRA: THE DAMAGE OF BRITISH ON THE IDENTITY OF THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA

BIAFRA: THE DAMAGE OF BRITISH ON THE IDENTITY OF THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA

Nigeria as a country is not existing until the British colonial masters came in Africa and brought colonialism in Africa, which forcefully amalgamated three different nations- Biafra,  Ariwa and Oduduwa to become one war Nigeria. The Biafra/Nigeria civil war explains everything to the hearing of the world that Biafrans were not consulted before the amalgamation of Nigeria by the British evil colonial masters, represented by Frederick Lugard.

Nnamdi Kanu is fighting for a legitimate course, which is to liberate Biafrans from the slavery of the 1914 amalgamation that was forcefully imposed on Biafrans and which expired in the year 2014.  Therefore, the continuous detention of Nnamdi Kanu by the Nigerian government is an abuse of human rights and a grievous human rights injustice.

Nnamdi Kanu is exercising his inalienable right to self determination which is enshrined in the United Nations charter for the protection and freedom of all indigenous subjugated people.

COLONIALISM AND THE RIGHT TO SELF DETERMINATION

Colonialism is generally regarded as the total or partial loss of autonomy of indigenous peoples to the coercive or forceful establishment of exploitative/oppressive governing authorities on unequal terms by a people, group or colonial power not ordinarily or historically linked culturally, geographically or linguistically to the colonised. Any group that therefore forcefully subjects another to their authority without democratic consent of the indigenous peoples through a plebiscite or referendum is an act of colonialism.

There was nothing like Nigeria until the British colonialists, in trying to consolidate their selfish commercial interest put together persons who has no cultural, geographic, linguistic or ethnic links with each other. It was from the onset an impossible country created not for the harmonious existence or interests of the unfortunate people who make up the strange and unworkable contraption, but for the servicing of British trading interests.

RIGHTS OF INDEGENOUS PEOPLE WORLD WIDE

"Indigenous peoples have the right to self-determination. By virtue of that right they freely determine their political status and freely pursue their economic, social and cultural development."

The British governments have severally caused war crimes against the Indigenous People Of Biafra and was also part of the joint genocide committed on Biafrans which lead to the death of over 3million Biafrans during the Biafran/Nigeria civil war till date. Nnamdi Kanu's unlawful detention and continuous incarceration is same thing as hiding the truth from the world, because he is with the secret atrocities committed and sealed by the Nigeria and British government against the people of Biafra.

Tagging IPOB as an unlawful society by the Nigerian government is same thing as dismantling the imposed human rights as stipulated for every indigenous people. The leader of the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) has every right to exercise the right to self determination as enshrined by United Nations and endorsed by Nigeria government, his continuous detention is total abuse of his fundamental human right and bridge of international and local laws.
