HAS THERE BEEN A TIME THAT IT IS WELL WITH NIGERIA?
By Nwafor Somtochukwu Aloysius,
For Family Writers.
The British experiment called Nigeria, which has continuously yielded a disheartening result, and has never for once been a place harmoniously domiciled by it's inhabitants. An illusion and contraption known as Nigeria was created for the economic sustenance of Britain and for the perpetual enslavement of Africa right from it's origin. Created by the British accomplice, Fredrick Lord Lugard and his wife, Flora Shaw, Nigeria have been a place invigorated by chaos, disdain, shame, unimaginable atrocities and death.
Summarizing a bit, the history of Fredrick Lord Lugard's evil and wickedness in creating the so-called Nigeria: Fredrick Lugard was a British slave-master, an alcohol addict, and an ex-convict sent to Africa by the British government to come and die of malaria which was the then deadly sickness that decimated the colonial invaders. Lugard being a sex-addict came along with his wife, Flora Shaw. Flora Shaw insinuated the name Nigeria which according to her, meant, a people occupying the areas surrounding the Niger River.
Nevertheless, the true meaning of the name Nigeria,(Niger area), is a place occupied by inferior black people who lack ability to reason properly. Therefore the name Nigeria was just a mere mockery to it's inhabitants and never a way of establishing viable national identity. The unsolicited creation of Nigeria as a country by Britain is deep-root in hatred and racism.
Fredrick Lugard discovered the greatness of Biafrans and the resources our land and the people are endowed with, hence envy and jealousy grew in him, and he decided to subjugate Biafrans into perpetual slavery, having come to terms with what Biafrans are capable of doing if allowed to be free. Britain ordered Lugard and Flora Shaw to come up with the name Nigeria, in order to be using it in stealing the resources of Biafrans.
The creation of Nigeria was a criminally masterminded plot by the British imperialists. Now everyone can simply understand why everything in Nigeria is corrupt and always retarded. The foundation of Nigeria is built on fraudulent mindset and forgery; watered with Blood of Biafrans and sealed with falsehood.
Nigeria has always been characterised with pathetic, awkward stories and memories of pains since its creation and amalgamation. Before I forge ahead let's take glimpse at the history of Nigeria, even though It is always disgusting telling the ugly story of Nigeria.
The history of Nigeria can be traced to prehistoric settlers living in the area as early as BC. Numerous ancient African civilizations settled in the region that is today Nigeria. An example of one of the civilizations in Nigeria can be traced to the Biafra nation.
The Songhai Empire also occupied part of the Northern region of Nigeria which is today known as the Arewa nation. Lagos in the West which is also known as Oduduwa Republic, but was captured by British forces in 1851 and formally annexed in 1861. Nigeria became a British protectorate in 1901, even as the colonization lasted until 1960.
Nigeria first became a republic in 1963, but succumbed to military rule in 1966 after a bloody coup d'état which has been erroneously tagged as an 'Igbo Coup' till date, leading to the infamous pogrom against Biafrans in the Northern and Western part of the country, and which resulted to the massacre of not less than 30,000 Biafrans. The unabated ethnic cleansing of Biafrans prompted the declaration of the Republic of Biafra in 1967, resulting to the three-year genocidal war conducted by the Nigeria in alliance with the British government and other world powers against Biafrans, and which claimed over 3.5 million lives of innocent Biafrans.
After the war, Nigeria became a republic once again after a new constitution was written and adopted in 1979. However, the republic was short-lived, when another military coup led by Major General Muhammadu Buhari (now the president of Nigeria), seized power from the democratically elected government of Shehu Shagari.
Buhari was overthrown by another successful coup led by General Ibrahim Badamasu Babangida. A new republic was formed in August 1993, but was dissolved once again by General Sani Abacha in November that same year. Abacha the chronic dictator, died in 1998 and a fourth republic was established the following year, ending three decades of intermittent military rule.
It's very important to note that hundreds of lives were lost in each of those bloody coups and political crisis which marooned the Nigeria state.
After the regime of General Sani Abacha, who is said to be the worst dictator in the history of Nigeria, another predicament befell Nigeria once again in the name of civilian rule.
When Olusegun Obasanjo, a former dictator, took over under a civilian government, many thought things might be better, but it's unfortunate that the reverse became the case. The Obasanjo led government started by rewriting the constitution and recovering some of the embezzled funds of the past administration of dictator Sani Abacha who looted- dry the treasury of Nigeria.
Nevertheless, after Obasanjo recovered some of the Abacha's loot which amounted to trillions of naira; instead of using it to revitalise the sick and empty Nigeria, he (Obasanjo) re-looted the money and shared to his political cohorts. Obasanjo formed Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), an agency he used to witch-hunt those who challenged his evil and corrupt government in the name of anti-graft war.
Of course, the political 'gangsterism' and 'godfatherism' are all inventions of the most deceitful and hypocritical president in the history of the contraption known as Nigeria.
The corrupt government of Olusegun Obasanjo was heavily disturbed by the resurgent of activists in the riverine areas of Biafraland.
Militancy became the order of the day due to the level of hardship and sufferings the people in the coastal region were subjected to. Oil spillage, pollution of water, air and land became the order of the day. Biafrans in these areas can no longer farm, do their fishing occupation or drink clean water due to oil spillage and pollution of the environment. The government kept reaping the resources without instituting any form of compensation to the owners and inhabitants of the land, while the people are subjected to hunger, dehydration, and death.
The condition became so unbearable, resulting to the rising of different groups both the armed and unarmed, who protested and challenged the evil government of Olusegun Obasanjo. However, instead of the government heeding to their cries, they were attacked and massacred them in their cold blood, while others were arrested and thrown into jail.
Obasanjo committed all the atrocities and left the government in 2007 without being held accountable by the law.
Umaru Musa Yar'Adua(President) and Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as the vice president, took over the government from Obasanjo promising to make Nigeria a better place to live. The administration of Yar'adua started by initiating a plan to calm down the issue of militancy in the riverine areas, giving birth to the introduction of amnesty program and the release of those who were held in prison. However, Yar'adua later died in 2010.
Yar'adua's death left the government and his uncompleted tenure to his deputy, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. Jonathan tried all he could to make Nigeria habitable, but was frustrated and chased out of office by the evil Hausa-Fulani hegemony due to their unquenchable thirst for power and hatred for Biafrans. Despite that, Jonathan channelled 90 percent development to the north, yet they paid him back by accusing his government of being solidly built on corruption, humiliated him and forced him to shy away from power.
Buhari and his cohorts of the Hausa-Fulani extraction established Boko-Haram, one of the most deadly terror groups in the world who engages in the massacre and maiming of civilians especially Christians in Nigeria for the purpose of turning Nigeria into an Islamic state. It's worthy to note that the activities of Boko-Haram have left over 100,000 innocent lives dead, and millions of people displaced.
Nigeria met it's doom once again in the hands of the most corrupt, deceitful, hypocritical, clueless and the worst president in the whole of Africa. He is no other than the former military dictator, General Muhammadu Buhari. His political party, All Progressive Congress, APC, had prior to the 2015, presidential election, promised to bring the needed change to Nigeria and Nigerians, however, nobody knew that they are coming to inflict more injuries on the dying British empire known as Nigeria.
From all indications, the All Progressive Congress (APC) party was formed by a clique of Northern cabals, who were desperate to scare away Goodluck Ebele Jonathan from office and return power to the north.
Buhari became Nigeria president, thanks to the influence of former British prime minister, David Cameron, and former US president, Barack Hussein Obama.
Nigerians thought all shall be well with them again, but little did they know that they have been duped and doomed. Buhari the epitome of disgrace and tyranny, who orchestrated a bloody coup, and overthrowing a democratically elected government of Shehu Shagari in December 31, 1983 committed a crime which attracts a capital punishment.
General Muhammadu Buhari committed treason in 1983, but today, he is walking around a free man because Nigeria is a zoo, occupied by 'monkeys and baboons'.
It's worth knowing that Buhari during his military regime, inherited a booming economy, but which slid into recession within a space of twenty months of his military government, prompting the overthrow of his regime by General Ibrahim Badamasu Babangida.
Similarly, today, the Buhari led government of APC has sent Nigeria into abbys, as untold hardship, disdainful hunger, and death have become the order of the day in the country. It is certain that what happened during Buhari's days as a military Head of state is exactly what is happening today in Nigeria. It's no longer news that the former biggest growing economy in Africa has been subjected to a chronic recession within a twinkle of an eye under Buhari's government.
It's now clear and obvious, that Nigeria is dead and can't be repaired. Of course, every house built on a shallow and shaky foundation must fall.
Nigeria is built on a fraudulent foundation which is already collapsing before our eyes. Following line by line, the history of Nigeria, there have never been anytime Nigeria was at peace or rest with itself, starting from the day it was created till date; and as such, can't be repaired, because there was no time it's been well with her.
Had it been there was a time Nigeria is good, then we should have gone back, drawn some lessons, and moved forward. Alas! There is none.
This enclave called Nigeria has done more harm than good to her inhabitants and humanity at large, the earlier we dissolve this artificially made country, the better for Africa and the rest of humanity.
