MAZI BENJAMIN MMADUBUGWU AND THE SHAMELESS REIGN OF INJUSTICE IN NIGERIA

MAZI BENJAMIN MMADUBUGWU AND THE SHAMELESS REIGN OF INJUSTICE IN NIGERIA

By Moses Obinna Agbo
For Family Writers Press

The trumped up Court case preferred against Mazi Benjamin Mmadubugwu with his continued illegal detention under the most excruciating inhuman condition, are clear indications of grave injustices in the British establishment called Nigeria. As it's always said, "no good can be created or obtained from corruption-laden environment. It seems therefore, that the long term detention of  Mazi Benjamin Mmadubugwu who has severally been reported to have been terribly down with poor health, is to say the least, most callous and dehumanizing. This adequately describes the adage quoted above.

Benjamin Mmadubugwu who has been held against his will under firm security custody in Kuje prison, Abuja, has neither been implicated in any criminal nor terrorist activity. He is just a freedom fighter that has taken a stand with the truth alongside Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and other hardcore fellow Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide. These are people adjudged by the civilized world, to be the most peaceful and well organized freedom fighters the world has ever recorded even in the 21st century, standing under the umbrella of self-determination as clearly enshrined in United Nations (UN) charter on the rights of Indigenous People Groups. He is a very ardent member of the IPOB that has never been indicted by any Court of competent jurisdiction. Nevertheless, he is yet being unjustly incarcerated and subjected to severe inhuman degradation known to man despite his worsening health situation.

Since his illegal arrest from his home at Ubuluisiuzo town in Ihiala local government area of Anambra state, by the Nigerian security operatives on the 28th of October 2015,  he has been in prison custody with no right of bail while his family has been denied the pleasure of seeing him nor be catered for as the breadwinner. The Nigerian government has blatantly and dubiously denied him justice and freedom even when he has not been found guilty by law. Why is the innocent denied justice? Why has the Nigerian judiciary so suddenly become an unjust tool in the hands of the government? Is Nigeria in a democracy or yet under dictatorial rule? Why have the laws become selectively applied to different ethnic groups in a country where there exists the mantra of unity? Why are the Arewas speedily exonerated even in the face of obvious acts of criminality and Biafrans punished and killed for upholding and expressing their rights of freedom? Why has the world remained indifferent at the brazen evidences of injustice, oppression and anarchy unrelentlessly being visited upon the people? Has it become the responsibility of the presidency to adjudicate on legal issues? All these questions are really begging for answers which those concerned must have to provide.

The Nigerian supposedly professional and disciplined secret security outfit, the Department of Security Services (DSS) has so seriously bastardized their integrity, thereby worsening the whole matter. They criminally stole some of his valuable properties worth millions of Nigerian Naira upon his arrest. These include Toyota Camry Muscle car popularly known in Nigeria as Spider, Mercedes Benz Jeep 4matic GL450 and CCTV decoder. Surprisingly, these valuables taken away from his home were never tendered as exhibits in the court by the agents of his captors except 2 IPAD phones, 5 Laptops amongst other items.

It is most disappointing to point out here, the bizarre display of judicial malignancy by the presiding judge of the Federal High Court  - Justice Binta Nyako. She has shamelessly sided with depots to rob the innocent and the common masses, of justice that is rightly theirs. Justice Binta Nyako cannot deny knowledge of the interest of the International community in this case and so trying so hard to service the interest of her employers by unduly twisting judicial process, is not just only callous but an act of judicial terrorism. Before the last court sitting, a disturbing medical evaluation of Mazi Benjamin Mmadubugwu which needed prompt attention of freedom from the prison custody, was tendered but despite a motion filed by his legal team for right of bail, the presiding judge remained tied to the apron strings of the presidency. She yielded to that pressure just to retain the wicked delay tactics being employed by the prosecuting representatives of the cabalistic government.

We, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide, are using this medium to alert humanity about the gross violation of human rights, abortion of justice and as well as the subsisting deep seated hatred in Nigeria under the watch of Muhammadu Buhari, against Biafrans. We also call on the civilized world and human rights groups to compel Nigeria to obey and dispense justice according to the dictates of just laws irrespective of whosoever that is involved.

Benjamin Mmadubugwu, other Biafrans as well as Mazi Nnamdi Kanu still being held by the Nigerian government, must be set freed now. The numerous atrocious structures instituted against us (Biafrans) by Nigeria must have to be dismantled forthwith. Buhari's government and agents must swallow their shame, honorably toe the path of democratic process of referendum and allow us determine our future with Nigeria.

#Self-determination is an inalienable right of all oppressed Indigenous People Groups the world over#

 It is not a crime!
