PREAMBLE
Today is Biafra Heroes and heroines Remembrance Day. It is a day singled out by the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu with the collective mandate of the people of Biafra so that our heroes and heroines can be remembered for their legendary efforts towards the defence of Biafra land. Since 2014 maiden edition of this epoch-making event, it has become an annual occasion wherein the people of Biafra both within Biafra land in West Africa under the occupational control of Nigeria government and those residing in the diaspora commemorate all those who have lost their lives at one time or the other for the defence of the remnants of Biafra. It is also a time to reflect on the deaths of all the people of Biafra being killed from the expedition time of the European countries in West Africa which Chief among them is Britain. May 30th every year has become an annual day of history in Biafra land to honour both our fallen and living heroes and heroines.

DOXOLOGIES
To Chukwu Okike Abiama be the glory for preserving all of us to witness another edition of Biafra Heroes Remembrance Day billed for May 30th every year. He has shown us his tender mercies and kindness for the preservation of our gallant leader from the hands of evil men and women in Nigeria federation who attempted to assassinate him on September 14, 2017, but delivered him to be alive to witness Biafra Heroes and heroines remembrance Day of this year with other Biafrans. Our bowel of thanks also goes to the supreme leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) globally, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu for the creation of this annual date of history with humanity for the remembrance of all our fallen heroes. Appreciation also goes to the IPOB Directorate of State, the government arm of IPOB for their undivided loyalty to our great leader, and their unflinching support and publicity of this year's Biafra heroes and heroines remembrance Day. Finally, appreciation also goes to the people of Biafra all over the world for their endorsement of this annual event wherein we collectively remember the people who laid down their lives so we will live.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY
Since 2014 when this annual event kicked off in Aba, Abia State in Biafra land, the occasion have always recorded huge success annually. Unfortunately, the 2016 edition of the annual event ended up in a barbaric bloodshed when the Nigerian Armed Forces drafted from the Army, Police, Navy and DSS invaded the event center at Nkpor in Anambra State, ransacked St Edmund Catholic Church Nkpor where the Biafrans gathered for a candle night vigil for the Heroes and heroines and massacred hundreds of Biafrans in a cold blood and enforced disappearance of thousands just because they were also agitating for Biafra independence side by side with the commemoration of the fallen heroes and heroines. However, in subsequent years of 2017 and 2018 editions, the IPOB leadership adopted the method of a Sit at home directive for every May 30th to remember the heroes and heroines instead of any gathering wherein Nigerian lawless Armed Forces laying siege of our land will invade the venue and massacre armless civilians. The sit at home method all over Biafra land has eradicated the unwarranted massacre of unarmed civilians which was formally associated with the day especially in 2016, always carried out by Nigerian Armed Forces.

OUR AIM FOR THIS YEAR'S EDITION
In this year's edition of the May 30th Biafra Heroes and heroines remembrance Day, we have collectively agreed that the people of Biafra all over the world will remember all the people who died for us to live since the advent of the European expedition in West Africa which they christened colonialism. On May 30th, the people of Biafra are under moral obligation to remember the heroes and heroines who lost their lives as follows:

1. All the people of Biafra who were killed by different European invaders during the centuries of exploration especially 17th, 18th and 19th century.

2. All the people of Biafra who were killed by British hitmen because indigenous resistance from the aborigines of Biafra when they came for the colonial expedition in late 19th century and early 20th century.

3. All the mothers of Biafra nation killed by the British colonial overlords during the Aba Women genocide euphemistically christened "Aba Women Riot" of 1929.

4. All the people of Biafra killed by the British colonial overlords at the coal mining site in the city of Enugu during the colonial days in November 29, 1942.

5. All the people of Biafra massacred in Jos genocide in 1945.

6. All the people of Biafra massacre in Kano genocide targeted against Igbo people in 1953.

7. All the people of Biafra massacred in a pogrom targeted on Igbo people in many cities of northern Nigeria especially Kaduna, Kano, Jos, Makurdi and Otukpo wherein soldiers of Biafra extraction in the barracks and innocent civilians were gruesomely massacred in the said pogrom from July 1966 to January 1967.

8. Over 6 Million Biafrans which includes Armed Forces, defenseless civilians, harmless women, little children and aged people massacred in a genocidal war levied against the people of Biafra because of their outright secession by Nigerian government and her allies led by Britain, USSR and Egypt from 1967 to 1970.

9. All the people of Biafra massacred in Northern Nigeria from 1970 when the genocidal war ended till date in one senseless riot or the other in different parts of Northern Nigeria.

10. All the people of Biafra massacred in the new agitation for Biafra independence since 1999 under MASSOB, IPOB and BZM.

11. All the people of Biafra killed all over Nigeria by Fulani herdsmen, Boko Haram and other terrorists organizations being empowered and sponsored by the Islamic Government of Nigeria.

12. All the IPOB members massacred in hundreds and thousands in different gatherings, protests and rallies in Aba, Onitsha, Port Harcourt, Asaba, Nkpor and many other cities in Biafra land by Nigerian Armed Forces in the bid to quench the struggle for Biafra independence.

All these 12 categories of our gallant fallen heroes and heroines must be remembered come May 30th this year and till the end of history. All the living heroes and heroines who fought gallantly in the defence of the remnants of the land will also be remembered in the process.

THE INVITED GENTLEMEN OF THE PRESS
We are calling on you people to defend global human right by writing before the global audience on the exact reason why the people of Biafra vehemently insisted that they have designated May 30th every year as an annual day of remembrance of their fallen heroes. It has come to our notice that Nigerian government is secretly inducing Western world mainstream media outlets in order to turn blind eyes to the plight of Biafrans and as a result keep their global audience in dark as it concerns the agitation for Biafra independence. Only recently, the IPOB leadership reported how they approached DSTV and Multi Choice to include Radio Biafra London and Biafra Television satellite signal in their respective network and they both turned down the request. They said it openly that Nigerian government threatened outright closure of DSTV signal all over Nigeria should they include anything relating to Biafra in their list of network. We implore all the world media outlets to eschew biasness when writing any topic relating to Biafra.

EPILOGUE
It is important for the people of Biafra to understand that we must continue to remember these Biafra heroes until the end of time. We must understand that Biafra genocide is as bad as Jewish holocaust, yet the atrocious crimes committed against the people of Biafra are being concealed. But with May 30th heroes remembrance Day annually, humanity will not be able to feign ignorance of the genocide during the genocidal war levied against the people of Biafra.

Thanks a lot for listening and have a pleasant day ahead.

Presented by:

Mazi Emeka Gift,
IPOB National Coordinator, Côte D'Ivoire.
