POLITICAL TYRANNY AND RELIGIOUS RIDE ON NIGERIAN CITIZENS
The prevalent high rate of political tyranny and religious supremacy over the laid down system of government, is really a huge challenge facing the Nigerian state. The religious activity has in diplomatically, overruled every affair of the Nigerian government with absolutely no regard to human rights and lives. Religious terrorism or supremacy as exhibited by Northerners against other religious beliefs in Nigeria has in many ways resulted in brutal killings of Christians both in the past and present without strict condemnation from the so-called politicians or government. The country's leadership thus, hide under the guise of religion to suppress the masses into perpetual enslavement of all sorts.
In black Africa today especially in Nigeria, religion has become a tool to promote political tyranny. This evidentially is seen through the activities of religious leaders including Imams and some mischievous Christian leaders, who without shame, supported and campaigned for the present administration despite it's tyranny and molestation of Christians. It is obvious that churches these days are being used by the politicians to pave way for electoral offices through their donations of huge sums of stolen funds to the pastors and other religious leaders for prophesies that will favour them. The question remains, for how longer would this aberration called prophecy (prediction) last, despite it's bid to demonize humanity, destroy religious morals/sanity through the altar of socio-political absolutism?
Today the Nigeria political system is engraved in tyranny, nepotism, dictatorship, religious and ethnic propaganda. The Northerners (Moslems), regard Easterners (Christians) as infidels, not worthy of any political post in Nigeria while Westerners (Moslems/Christians) roll out conditions to the same Easterners on how to cast their votes as non-indigenes. These hilarious ethic and religious activities clearly state the differences inherent in the so-called one Nigeria built on religious, regional, ethnic, socio-political and socio-economic propaganda. However, both the government and religious leaders in Nigeria, have failed woefully in discharging their duties to the citizens. The religious leaders that suppose to question the authorities for accountability and bad governance keep blunt muteness, even when killings and injustices rule over the country. The leaders of faith in Nigeria have actually left the flock in pursuit of financial and political affluence thereby placing the masses or rather the church into praying for politicians to change, not judging the actions. The Bible book of Hosea chapter 4 verse 6 states: "My people perish for lack of knowledge". In this aspect, knowledge is not the number of certificates acquired but the knowledge gained, which explains the above assertion that the leaders of faith in Nigeria have the knowledge but lacks the wisdom of God to advance the core value of humanity which entails standing for the truth and justice.
