THE RISE AND FALL OF THE NORTHERN/FULANI REGION OF NIGERIA

THE RISE AND FALL OF THE NORTHERN/FULANI REGION OF NIGERIA

The genocidal orgy of violent killing of Biafrans started way back in 1945 by the murderous Fulanis in their crave for Islamic conquest and dominance of all residents especially within the Northern part of this unworkable entity called Nigeria. This they relentlessly maintained over the years prior to the so-called independence of Nigeria in 1960. Their claim of right of ownership to the Nigerian contraption as their forefathers estate, intermittently stirred up the jihadistic/cannibalistic instinct in them across Nigeria against Biafrans who were being killed and their properties/means of livelihood worth fortunes, wantonly destroyed. Biafrans were maimed and extra-judicially killed as sacrificial lambs in their thousands at any slightest religious or political uprisings not caused by them within the Northern/Western parts of Nigeria, without recourse. This spate of unprovoked gruesome killings perpetrated against the same group of persons (tribe) including men, women, children and even the elderly, under the nose of the Northern/Fulani political leaders with absolutely no form of political willingness and stringent measure adopted to stem the tide, angered some radical, high ranking army officers then serving in the Nigerian army mostly from Biafra extraction, to revolt against the State.

This of course triggered off the first military coup det'at in the country on the 15th day of January 1966 which was organized and duly executed by five notable senior army officers namely: late Major Kaduna Nzeogwu, late Major T. C. Onwuatuegwu, late Major Emmanuel Ifeajuna, late Major Adewole Ademoyega and late Major Victor Banjo, that brought in late General Johnson Aguiyi Ironsi to power as the first Nigerian Military Head of State. The Eastern region was in full control of the country's affairs. The process of the coup det'at caused heavy casualties on the Hausa-Fulani (Northern) leaders, prominent amongst whom were late Abubakar Tafewa Balewa and late Alhaji Ahmadu Bello.

However, after the six months reign of late of General Johnson Aguiyi Ironsi, a military counter-coup det'at was successfully carried out by the Northern Fulani army officers in which General Aguiyi Ironsi was executed, thereby bringing in General Yakubu Gowon as the new military Head of State. The emergence of General Yakubu Gowon as a junior army officer then was opposed by late General Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu who was his superior in rank. This anomaly formed part of the issues that precipitated the Nigeria/Biafra war of 30th May, 1967.

THE RISE/SUPREMACY OF NORTHERN/FULANI REGION

Right from the successful military counter-coup det'at of the Northern Fulani army officers on the 29th of July 1966, the journey of supremacy by the region has been on from the 29th of July 1966 up until date.

(1) It has been majorly an unbroken chain of Northern Fulani leadership from one Military Head of State or President to the other in the country.

(2) They respectively ruled as Military Heads of State, Presidents or Military Governors of States.

(3) All principal leadership positions were occupied by them.

(4) Virtually all ambassadorial positions were also occupied by them.

(5) They only alloted deputising positions to those from other regions of the South-East, South-South and South-West.

(6) They carried the federal capital from Lagos (South-West), to Abuja (Northern region), without consultation with other regions.

(7) They alloted to and built all the military schools in the Northern region.

(8) They created States at will, allocating to themselves, twenty (20) States with three other regions of South-East, South-South and South-West combined, getting only sixteen (16) States.

(9) They deceitfully replaced late Muhammadu Buhari with a body double known as Jubril Aminu Al-Sudani without minding the resultant effect such an arrangement could have in the country.

In the year 1975, General Yakubu Gowon was overthrown by late Colonel Murtala Muhammed but just few years into his reign, he was equally overthrown by his fellow Northern army officer called Buka Suka Dimka, in a bloody coup det'at. At this point, the military leaders of Northern extraction became frightened regaining power and so decided to hand it over to a colleague of theirs from the South-West region known as General Olusegun Obasanjo. After two years of his reign of cowardice however, he handed the power back in 1979, to another Fulani known as Alhaji Shehu Shagari through a democratic setting. This was yet overthrown through a bloodless coup det'at by late General Muhammadu Buhari in the year 1984. Buhari's regime was short-lived as he got overthrown through a paraiah coup det'at by his Northern military brother, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida. It is therefore true to state here that due to the leadership line-up as orchestrated, other regions were not allowed to access power at the centre. Even the South-West and Middle Belt regions that aligned with them in war against Biafrans were denied access to top military leadership echelon. This clearly depicted the greed and power drunkness of the Northern Fulanis and their cohorts, thereby affirming their claim to the "BORN TO RULE" policy while others were "BORN TO SERVE".

During the regime of Babangida, general elections were conducted with M. K. O. Abiola (South-West), wining the Presidential seat against his Northern counterpart. General Babangida annulled the election results in order not to truncate the Northern Fulani hegemonious rulership flow. They however were initial protests especially within the South-West region by pro-democracy activists but all those were grossly compromised due to the cowardly, treacherous and subservient antecedents of typical Yorubas. This domineering policy of the Northern Fulanis continued till the democratic regime of late Umaru Musa Yar'Adua. It was at this point that Dr. Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan from the South-South region, was reluctantly given the opportunity to lead Nigeria as the next in command, having deputised Yar'Adua as Vice and subsequently, became the substantively elected President, constitutionally. He was however, stampeded out of continuity after his first tenure, for the Northerners to regain control, despite the fact that the people of the South-South region never ruled the country before then. This was made possible through the "GREED, POWER-CONSCIOUSNESS AND BORN TO RULE" syndrome of the Fulanis ably represented by the late Muhammadu Buhari.

SOUTH-WEST REGION (YORUBA)

The Yoruba nation no doubt, aligned with the Northern/Fulani region to wage war against the old Eastern region (Biafra), during the Nigeria/Biafra war of 1966-1970. Putting into consideration their active participation in that genocidal onslaught, one believed therefore that the leadership authority of power would be shared between the two aligning regions. The Northern/ Fulani region being excessively and unrepentantly power-drunk, never considered the Yoruba nation fit for the leadership of the country.

In view of this unpleasant scenario, it is pertinent to inform the Yorubas that no matter the level of their subservience and cooperation with the North, the highest office they can attain is to deputise the UNEDUCATED, GREEDY, POWER-CONSCIOUS AND BORN TO RULE Fulanis. Therefore, they should in the interest of their survival, humbly join forces with Mazi Nnamdi Okwu-Kanu (IPOB) and their brother, Omoleye Sowore, to liberate their region from the imminent bondage of enslavement.

THE MIDDLE BELT REGION

It is not out of place to salute the courage of this region for taking a stand against their affinity with the core North. After the failed coup det'at of late Major Gideon Okar on the 20th of April 1990, the people courageously took a stand to extricate themselves from the domination of the Northern region, thereby precipitating the beginning of the fall of the Fulanis. This declaration was re-echoed in 2014 during the initiation of a Constitutional Conference organized by former President Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan. That statement really weakened the evil resolve of the Northerners to throw the conference into disarray. It reduced their overbearing influence in the country. That declaration of the people of the Middle Belt region as KALA-KWURUKWU REPUBLIC, greatly demoralized the Northern/Fulani people thereby orchestrating the beginning of their down fall.

THE EMERGENCE OF THE BIAFRAN LION, MAZI NNAMDI KANU

The servant-leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) globally, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, arrived Nigeria to the surprise of many, on the 14th of October 2015. He was arrested by the officials of the Department of Security Service (DSS), in Lagos on the directive of the late President Muhammadu Buhari and thrown into detention. This to their disappointment, exposed him to the global community not only as a hero but a prisoner of conscience. The Northern/Fulani controlled central government, inadvertently initiated it's own downfall through that despotic act. While yet in detention, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu completely destroyed the myth of the Northerners as he vehemently turned down their evil overtures to compromise the Biafra restoration struggle. In their relentless evil schemes, they carried out failed assassination attempt on his life on the 14th of September 2017 through murderous military expedition, code-named "Operation Python Dance II". This act further reduced the influence of the Fulanis in Nigeria. The courageous IPOB leader afterwards, mysteriously surfaced in the nation of Israel from where he continued the demolition of the supremacy of the Northern/Fulani region. The civilised nations of the world like Israel, United States of America, France, Germany etcetera, became interested in the developments.

Not yet done with their evil plots of conquest and domination all over Nigeria, the North introduced both RUGA SETTLEMENT and HERDSMEN TERRORISM in Biafraland which received strong resistance and disapproval from the people and as it is today, that influence has greatly suffered defeat.

The Executive Governor of Rivers State, Chief Barrister Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike fearlessly stated that Nigeria is gradually sinking. He made it pointedly clear that the State has absolutely no land for RUGA SETTLEMENT but has enough water for drinking by the Fulani herders and their cattle. What a courageous mockery!

The Executive Governor of Delta State, Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa on his part, stated that Biafra will definitely become a resounding reality by the time the entire South-South region join the agitation for it's restoration. The BORN TO RULE, POWER CONSCIOUS, GREEDY AND UNEDUCATED Northern Fulanis yet remained mute and helplessly disappointed in their mad drive.

On the 10th of September 2019, the Northern/Fulani cabals announced in their desperation, that the country would embark on forty (40) days prayer for unity, invariably admitting the impotency and failure of military force to achieve their obnoxious aims. Conclusively, it is important therefore to add here that the current Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth, following a European Union meeting, was quoted as saying that THE REPUBLIC OF BIAFRA should be created out of Nigeria since enough resources abound in the region for self sustainability.

HOW REALLY HAS THE MIGHTY FALLEN!
