BREAKING: Abuja Appellate Court Allows Kanu's Appeal, Discharged And Acquitted The IPOB Leader

BREAKING: Abuja Appellate Court Allows Kanu's Appeal, Discharged And Acquitted The IPOB Leader

The Justice Hanatu Sankey led 3-man panel of Judges in Abuja Appeal Court have on 13th of October, 2023, discharged and acquitted Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra(IPOB).

Recall that following the continued adjournments, and unjust stance by Justice Binta Nyako's Federal High Court, Abuja, Kanu had instructed his legal team to forward a petition to the Appeal Court, requesting the Court to question and quash the order of Justice Binta Nyako. This is because, Justice Nyako had ordered the IPOB leader to answer to seven(7) out of the fifteen(15) terrorim charges, put against him(Kanu), by the Federal Government.

But, the IPOB leader faulted the order, and sees the accusations as baseless. He claims that the alleged offences were not even said to have been committed in Nigeria, and have no clear specifications. Therefore he requested of the appeal court to totally trash all the fifteen(15) baseless count charges.

So, in the Appeal Court sitting of 13th October, 2023, which was delayed to about two(2) hours late from the original scheduled time, the court accepted Kanu's appeal.

First, the Appeal Court described the way and form Kanu was extradited by the Nigeria government, as illegal. Also the honourable Court unambiguously called the way Kanu's case was proceeded by the Federal High Court, illegal. In fact, "the Federal High Court breached Kanu's right to fair hearing", the Appeal Court said.

Furthermore, the Appeal Court proceeded to say that "no government of the world has the right to extradit anyone without due process", because "extraordinary rendition is a gross violation of local and international laws".

The Court also faulted Justice Binta Nyako, said she "made a grave error in the way she manhandled the IPOB leader's case".

It is on these notes that the Appeal Court discharged and acquitted Nnamdi Kanu.

According to a tweet from Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Kanu/IPOB's led counsel, "Appeal allowed, Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi KANU, discharged and acquitted.

We have won !

Victory victory victory victory".

Currently, there is great jubilation across Biafraland, and round the world, everywhere Biafrans are found.

Again, Nnamdi Kanu is a free man!
