Buhari and war against corruption laughable

Buhari and war against corruption laughable

Nigeria has its anti-corruption legislation, but unfortunately enforcement does not seem to have reached the desired levels.  In Nigeria bribery and corruption has been a menace for decades and the authorities have not been trying their best to control it. The issues range from corruption to conflict of interest situations.

Though, the country claims to have its anti-corruption legislation over the years. There have been no important initiatives to combat corruption and bribery. With the emerging of Buhari as president of Nigeria, its associates (APC) claims they will win the war on corruption, bribery and insurgents, but it seems since the hand over on May 29th, the country seems to be going down the gutter, One recent example being the tackling of insurgents (boko haram) which the President and its associates promised to tackle in two weeks if they emerge winner during the election.  But ever since then it seems they have gone asleep towards their promises while the insurgents keeps killing the innocent masses who voted for change.  Instead of tackling corruption and insurgents, President Muhammad Buhari started ordering the killing and arrest of unarmed Biafrans(IPOB) who are evangelizing for the restoration of Biafra.

According to the World Bank, corrupt practices such as in Nigeria are robbing the developing nations of as much as $40 billion annually, Its approach to tackling corruption and the authorities have already made no significant investment in enforcement capabilities. This change in approach is underlined by a growing number of high-profile actions taken against the very past administration instead of the whole administration who have govern the country, it seems the President Muhammad Buhari and its government are trying to play favoritism. For you to fight corruption you ought to start from yourself and your cabinets but the president seem not to try that, it took him 2 or 3months to appoint its ministers, and after doing that he made himself the petroleum minister, 80% of the president appointment was given to the northern, which is against the Nigeria 1999 constitution which states, you as a President must carry everyone along, everyone is quiet because Buhari is the chief sponsor of Boko haram , coup plotter and military dictator.
