NIGERIA IN DISARRAY

NIGERIA IN DISARRAY

By Oscar Onyeani Umah
(For Family Writers)

Over the years the Nigerian authorities has been accused for various and serious violations of basic fundamental human right ranging from unlawful detention of individual without trial, extra judicial killing of persons in Detentions and lack of freedom of speech and expression of opinion by both individuals, civil society organization locally and internationally and in 2010 Amnesty international says Nigeria Army has committed atrocities against civilians in the northern part of the country which the Army denied unconditionally and that is why the United States decided to limit its military aid to the most populous black nation in its quest to combat the insurgency due to their poor human right record. As the biggest economy in Africa and top oil exporting nation and investment destination, it citizenry are wallowing in poverty and reports of violence and corruption by authorities have tarnished its image, in 1977 the first administration of Buhari when served as the petroleum minister and at same time the head of states a total sum of 2.8 billion dollar was stolen from the oil fund and after a committee of investigation was set up to look into the issue a call was made for him to appear before the committee but he refused and today same man is the president of Nigeria who want to fight corruption. The failure of Nigeria’s government to address the widespread poverty, corruption, police abuse and brutality, longstanding impunity for range of crimes has created a fertile ground for violent militancy.

Since the end of military rule in 1999, more than 900, 000 people have died in inter-communal, political, and sectarian violence, abused by government security forces and the ruling elite mismanagement and embezzlement of the country’s vast oil wealth also continued the government interference in the media remained increasingly robust. Nigeria’s judiciary system continued to exercise high degree of bribery while many corruption cases against senior political figures remain in the courts without prosecution. And is a case of loot and share as you can see in Nigerian today but critics still maintain that when will the rule law of be uphold in this God forsaken country called Nigeria(zoo). Former President Goodluck Jonathan sacked the chairperson of the leading anti-corruption agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in November 2011,Who is currently a governor in one of the northern states due to incompetence, but the EFCC, even under its new head as at that period, did little or nothing in its progress to combating the high level of government corruption indices and also in 2012 a former governor of Bayelsa State, who had fallen out with President Jonathan and the oil marketers for their alleged role in a fraudulent fuel subsidy scheme, but for a weak and overburdened judiciary, the agency still continued to undermine the effectiveness of its work.

The country’s other prominent anti-corruption agency, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, filed charges in September of same year against a former inspector general of police, Sunday Ehindero, and a former police commissioner for allegedly embezzling public funds. As at this writing of this article, not a single senior political figure in Nigeria is serving prison term for corruption, I CRY FOR NIGERIA AND DON’T KNOW WHAT THE FUTURE HAD IN STOCK FOR THEIR TIMMING YOUTH. Furthermore in recent development Nigerian is at again by arresting a freedom fighter and the Leader and Director of Radio Biafra Nnamdi Kanu unlawfully without charge of any kind and this singular act by the men of the DSS has been condemned many Human Right and Civil Society Organization has but information reaching the Biafran Herald and Biafran Times states that the Nigerian authority is set to trample on them for condemning the abuse and police brutality towards the unarmed civilian who went on their peaceful demonstration in some states which resulted in the use of live bullet resulting in deaths.

And after the demonstration a popular radical Governor Weki of the Southern state was removed by a tribunal just because he provided police and military support to the timing youth who are demonstrating on the street and this action laid the ACP to pay a total amount of 23 million Naira to the chief judge to annul his election and to call for a fresh election in 90 days and I asked myself is this not the case on abuse of power by the Buhari laid administration? On the appointment to the recent top security offices HURIWA said there was no justification for the consistent maltreatment of the South Eastern segment of the nation by almost all Federal Government Administrations in Buhari Government, besides, the Human right group said even the law of natural justice apart from even abundant constitutional principles and provisions frown at the singling out of one major ethnic group for systemic marginalization in sensitive appointments such as excluding them in the membership of the Nigerian Military/Security Council constantly. "Is it forbidden to name an Igbo-born Nigerian military officer as Chief of Defence Staff? ". On this note I call all the Igbo-born Biafran military presently in the Nigerian army that time has to for them to take home what belong to them we look upon them to rise up from their slumber and pick up their tools for effectively march to the actualization of our Biafran States.

LONG LIVE STATE OF BIAFRA
LONG LIVE NNAMDI KANU
