In her statement, "When we got to Umuahia, with our placards, the Police blocked us with teargas I told them we are here for Peace and not for war. One of their boss that I couldn't get his name, called me out and asked me why did you come here with all this women? I told him we want Governor Okezie ikpeazu to come out and address us. He then made a call, after that call so many police men came with Hillux vans they started beating us putting teargas on our nose direct without mercy even with the little Babies we came with, took our cameras from us, stripped our Women naked and took our phones from us". Mrs. Eze Doreen an IPOB member amongst the Enugu State protesters was spoken to and in her statement; "We were gathered at Okpara square where we were given instructions on how to coordinate ourselves. We sang a peaceful song with our placards reading. "Release our Director Nnamdi kanu". We got to the Enugu state Government house, but a police officer talked to us to dress to a corner of the road and letter we were led across the road where we were asked to stay and wait for the people that will see us. But all of a sudden SARS van arrived and started arresting our men who were standing afar by the corners. And at last, they started shooting teargas at us and shot one of the tear gas at the forehead of one of us who is a Woman and she bled profusely. They chased us into the bush where we managed to escape their terror.

Some got bruises on their hands and legs. They shot the teargas directly at us and surrounded us with it. The police men that did it were Hausa men". The Enugu North Coordinator of the Indigenous People of Biafra when visited by Biafra Herald reporters, gave an eyewitness report when spoken to.  In his statement; “My names are Chukwuemeka Stephen Okwudilichukwu. I am the IPOB Enugu north local government area coordinator. I am a native of Eziama Amech Idodo in Nkanu East Local Government Area Enugu State Biafra land. I was arrested yesterday 20th October 2015 by the Nigeria Police at Government House Emily at about 11:45 am with 11 other members with a little boy of 8 years by name Pascal mgbeke and they took all of us to the state CID Enugu state. The incident started when IPOB Enugu women wing is having their peaceful protest against the arrest of the Leader and Director of indigenous people of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu ,these Women were moving peacefully from Michael Okpara square Enugu to the Enugu state government house while on their way one of the radio station in the area by name Sunrise Fm came along and interviewed them after a while a group of Police hilux vans came there and without asking any question started firing teargas at the women and also arrest our aged men that accompanied the women with a child that is about 7 years. So one of the women was seriously wounded by the tear gas and they took those that were arrested to the STATE CID located at Okpara avenue. Immediately we got to the station, they stated harassing everybody they even handcuffed all of us push us inside the Cell after a while they said that we should write statement but we ask them to tell us our offence but the harassment keep on increasing since we refuse to write the statement until they tell us our offence . Later on they separated us in two's with the handcuff on our hands after some interrogation some people wrote the statement out of fear of torture while some refused to write and they threaten to send those that refuse to write the statement to torture room. After said and done they took us back to the cell and we joined other prisoners, that was when I started asking the reason why I should be handcuffed while other prisoners were not chained like me later on one of them came and remove the handcuff and they detained us in the cell till about 10 pm and after taken our names phone numbers and address, they ask us to go and come back the next day".
