Gov Ambode destroys igbo dominated market in Lagos. Igbo's when will you learn?

Popular Oshodi market in the Lagos metropolis is currently been demolished by the State government as millions of Naira worth of goods is been destroyed. Lagos residents, traders and shop owners woke up this morning to witness yet another massive demolition at the popular Oshodi market in one of Africa’s most commercial city. Both the shops and the good in it worth millions of Naira were destroyed. The Nigeria Police were apprehending Traders trying to go close to get out their goods from the marketbeing demolished.
Reports’ coming in by the traders was that an earlier notification was not given to the affected traders whose goods and shops were demolished. This market is largely dominated by Igbo speaking Biafrans and this is not the first time that such evil and wickedness is been done to the Igbo business men in Lagos. Starting from former governor of Lagos state, Babatunde Fashola who deported Igbos back to the homeland and raising tremendous taxes on Igbos living in Lagos to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Riliwanu Akinolu who promised to throw Igbos into the lagoon if they failed to vote for Ambode, the injustice has yet again continued with Gov Ambode.  Ambode says it’s as a necessary development in the actualization of a mega city, while others saw it as largely targeted at people of a particular region of the country.

How long can this continue to happen in Nigeria? This is a plot to continue to punish the Igbos who decides to stay in Lagos. How can you destroy a man’s shop and call it hoodlum’s hideout? How much notice did the Oshodi traders have? Why order the demolition now, the toughest month of the year? This is just so unfair and inhuman. Anyone who have a conscious will understands that this is uncalled for, for goodness seek this is January and people are coming back from their respective hometown back to their businesses, only to find out that their business places is been destroyed. This now is pure wickedness and there is no two ways about it, if Ambode wanted to build a mega city he should have at least given them a prior notice and also made provisions for them to relocate. What do the Lagos state government want those traders to do now? How do Ambode expect them to take of themselves and provide for their families? Of course the Lagos state government doesn’t care about them. My advice to my fellow Igbo Biafran brethren doing business in Lagos, is to start relocating their business to their homelands. This people don't appreciate what you have done and doing for them in Lagos, they don't want you to leave so that you can continue to work and live like slaves. Look at the amount they tax Igbos for their businesses and their house rents it’s just so ridiculous. It’s not going to be easy for Igbos to just relocate but prevention they say is better than cure.

More destruction and harm will come to the Igbo traders in Lagos whether you like it or not because the yorubas, there are jealous of your progress and they hate your dominance there. That Is why we are calling for a sovereign state of Biafra, many of you are now beginning to see the reasons why we say Biafrans are hated and disliked in Nigeria.  So Igbo-Biafrans its time to start going back home and develop your own lands, I personally blame the igbos for this, back home there are bountiful of lands to build on and develop on but yet you all abandon them just to go to other tribes and help develop their lands at what cost? Hate and jealousy! Look at Trade fair in Lagos! Look at how the Igbos built that place and yet they can't do that in Onishta or other Biafran states. Please tell me why? How many yorubas or hausa-fulani's have built something like that in Igbo lands? How many? Please Igbos, when will you learn? Is it until they destroy you all that you will get back to your senses? Please go back home and develop your lands because the worse is still about to happen, take my advice, Nigerians hate us and there is nothing we can do on earth to please them.

  1. It is time for Biafrans to go period, go back home land my people establish your business in your home and gradually take all your customers to your new locations in Biafra land let Lagos eat their land. Lagos is developed today is because of the Igbo's, if we leave Lagos today, Lagos will collapse overnight. Why are we still building houses and shops to develop the land of the people who hates us why, this is just the beginning of things yet to come, you have been warned the earlier the better.

  6. You all are disgruntled elements with no sense of direction & purpose. This is simply a campaign of Calumny! If you are campaigning for a Sovereign State of Biafra, must you bring in the demolition exercise aimed at Eradicating insecurity at Oshodi & its environs? Must Igbo men businesses thrive at the expense of insecurity? I could see that you guyz are shallow minded with no moral sense of saying the truth. All the write up(s) & allegations you Okonkwo Isaac Somto raised therein, were all lies from from your destructive indtinct. Truth must be told;Adequate notice was given to all shop owners in this regard(as a matter of fact, this issue of demolition has been on for 10 years now). All shop owners ensured that their goods were all removed before the demolition exercise except for a particular shop owner who was far away in the east to celebrate the festive Period with his family, was unable to remove his goods but same was removed by the authorities and kept in a safe place. No goods were destroyed during the demolition exercise as the authorities ensured that all goods were evacuated before the exercise commenced. A modern shops have been constructed for these Business men to relocate at a low & affordable rate of N5,000 per shop as against the going rate within the metropolis. In as much as i sympathized with the affected victims, the quest to get rid of insecurity at Oshodi must be of paramount importance before any other essentials as so many things including LIVES are attached to it. It is very important not to drag the Lagos State Government into your quest to create a country called BIAFRA!... it is totally UNACCEPTABLE!!!
