TO BUHARI: WILL BUHARI ALLOW HIS LORDSHIP JOHN TOSHO TO GRANT KANU BAIL?

TO BUHARI: WILL BUHARI ALLOW HIS LORDSHIP JOHN TOSHO TO GRANT KANU BAIL?

The one you call Kanu, did you know he has two passports, he came into this country without either of them, he imported equipments he uses to broadcast radio Biafra, he has committed atrocities by broadcasting and coming into Nigeria without passports, how can we give him bail? We will not give him bail

The above quote is the law called Buhari. For the sake of strangers who would think the word ‘Buhari’ is a law, i will make it clear to them so that this article will be cherished and understood. Buhari is the president of federal republic of Nigeria, a country made up of three nations; he is whom Kanu is asking to give Biafra independence through referendum. It’s most unfortunate that to Buhari, Shakau the leader of Boko haram is our misguided brother, while Kanu who has only talked that he should be given freedom is a terrorist who has committed atrocities and must not be given bail or freed by his power. The law approved this agitation, UN charter approved it, but when Kanu demanded for freedom from Buhari, he threw Kanu into prison.
Buhari
Buhari is not blind of the law, he knew Kanu is fundamentally expressing his right, addressing UN convention last year, he made it clear to the world, that people must not be denied of their freedom. He pushed that agitation for freedom is sacrosanct, it is understandable that religious inclination might have propelled his speech, he thought only Palestine his brothers are in the push for freedom. It is a pity Buhari is unaware that Palestine has not the qualities to be independent state and a call for Palestine independence is controversial yet to plead for freedom for Palestine and kill Kanu for asking freedom is hypocritic.

I support freedom everywhere but let there be basis. Buhari came back to Nigeria and met the same condition with basis, he arrested the arrowhead of peaceful agitation and when the court told him the man is innocent, he said no, the court is polluted, he said he would not obey the orders of the court and wondered why Kanu whom his atrocity was asking for freedom without arms or stick should be released. He illegally detained Nnamdi Kanu, tortured him and all effort to bribe him to give up the agitation proved futile.
During Buhari’s maiden media chat, he openly said to the whole world that he would not release Kanu, he made us understood that the judiciary or judge has no business with Kanu, he makes the call for Kanu’s bail, detention or imprisonment. The question today is, will Buhari allow John Tosho to grant Kanu bail, hence his alleged offence is bailable?.

During yesterday argument in the court before his lordship Tosho on bail application, the council to Kanu argued that Kanu is involved in a civil matter bailable under the law, his council had substantial argument and showed a high level of expertise. While Diri the council to DSS argued that Kanu would run if granted bail, he also cited that Kanu has two citizenship passports. However, the council to the DSS appeared confused and more ignorant of the process, he as a legal expert should know the reason for a surety or sureties, and further assessing his argument over the British passport of Kanu, Britain shares a strong diplomatic tie with Nigeria that one found guilty can be bundled back or expatriated to Nigeria and one would ask what crime has Kanu committed, will he be detained for lawfully agitating for Biafra, will he be hanged for what reason? on ordinary ground, he can only be asked or dialogued to stop lawful agitation.

With the argument in the court, even a secondary school graduate knows what the law says and can give a commendable ruling. As for the judge, the judge has no problem, where the problem lies is, will Buhari allow Kanu to be given bail. A doctor in law at Greenwitch University London had argued why the ruling should be within four days interval, he said ‘’ the ruling taken to 29th was to give room for executive interference, the judge maybe lobbied and injustice or executive handling of the judiciary is not a new thing. To me Nnamdi Kanu’s case is waste of time because he has not committed any offence, let Buhari dialogue for a way forward than display primitiveness and un-civilization’’ Efobi Ifeanyi Anthony added.
