NNAMDI KANU: BEING LAWFUL AND PEACEFUL WAS HIS CRIME

NNAMDI KANU: BEING LAWFUL AND PEACEFUL WAS HIS CRIME

By Ifeanyi Chijioke
For Family Writers

The world read between his lines of judgment on bail application, he without discretion stated that broadcasting on radio Biafra is crime and he said agitating for Biafra is crime. He tried to position it that forever peacefully asking the government to give him independence, he has committed a crime and finally said that for the sake of his passport he would not be granted bail, he would jump bail because to him, Kanu will surely be imprisoned.

Still screaming for such biased ruling that took everyone by surprise, i foolishly was expecting the ruling to go in Kanu’s favour, but I forgot Justice Ademola is no longer the presiding judge. Ademola could not nail an innocent man agitating lawfully for Biafra, he had not the heart to perverse justice and so after serving justice that same litigant feared he would be compelled to do otherwise and declared he has no confidence in Nigerian court.

Watching closely the dispositions of Justice John Tosho, he is hell bent to imprison Kanu as he is simply waiting for formality of hearing before he could pass his paid-ruling. In the court on 9th of February, he after the argument of Chucks Muoma (SAN) who argued that Kanu’s money was not part of exhibitlisted by the prosecution, and his passports as well, and so asked the court that the properties be returned. John Tosho however, ruled that the properties shall not be returned, casting further doubt and which implies that the accused is already confirmed guilty and has no right to whatsoever belongs to him.
Justice John Tosho ruled that Kanu’s properties have been confiscated on the first day of the trial and cast doubt of ever serving justice. If the presiding Judge has confiscated Kanu’s passports and money, is it the litigant that he would not imprison? The situation is obvious, Kanu have been found guilty on the basis of ever asking or mentioning Biafra.

The mistake Kanu made was his decision to lawfully and peacefully follow Nigeria, a country that is lawless and does not understand what it means to peacefully solve problems. All Biafrans are falling down, children of the world is falling down, our suffering is increasing, there is no sign of joy or peace of mind rather sorrow we have been inflicted for simply demanding what is lawful.

Justice John Tosho is simply discouraging Biafrans who have embraced law and order, peace and common sense. Having convicted Kanu, it is very clear that John Tosho is telling Biafrans to take up arms and get what we want by fire and force. He is telling us that law-abiding approach, peace, use of common sense and political resolution of matters cannot work in Nigeria. As determined Biafrans, we shall stop at nothing but get Biafra or die getting Biafra and if John Tosho so proves peaceful and lawful approach is paramount to imprisonment. We shall try another means to get what we now live for and die for what we believe.

Justice John Tosho and everyone that paid him or supports him or Buhari that persisted Tosho will do as he confessed in his media chat must know one thing. As you are forcing or as Tosho has chosen to unlawfully imprison Kanu, you must also be forced to reap the seed of jungle justice. For when the court or judge severe or perverse justice, men restore justice their own way.
