NIGERIAN COURTS CAN’T DISPENSE JUSTICE. ARE YOU NOT TIRED?

NIGERIAN COURTS CAN’T DISPENSE JUSTICE. ARE YOU NOT TIRED?

By Ifeanyi Chijioke
For Family Writers

The last court case before the adjournment to April, I could not update for FAMILY WRITERS as usual. I was tired and bored, the whole trial is becoming absurd and there is need to ask, are you not tired as well? The Judge rigmarole every day, going to and fro, there is no focus neither is there a destination, the Judge makes a ruling today and come the next day to contradict his ruling; the court have lost integrity and dignity; if The trial Judge wants to sentence Nnamdi Kanu by all means; he should spare us time and see that there is no evidence for it to be possible. If he persists, then he can just go on and rule that he has sentenced Nnamdi Kanu for peacefully expressing his fundamental right to self agitation. Once he rules, then we can take up arms and see if the language of arm can be understood hence peace is not a welcomed development.

Nigerian courts cannot handle this case, if the Judiciary is at loss and executive grasp is tight; then let international courts that independently adjudicate and interpret do the work. We cannot dwell on this case till eternity, if Nnamdi Kanu will not be released, then Buhari can jail him at his own discretion while we react at our own discretion. Let the court be scrapped while the office of the Presidency decide out-rightly on what they want. If a Judge can make a ruling today, come back tomorrow and say my ruling is no longer my ruling, then there is need for consistency in a court worthy of Justice.

The whole trial is taking much more time than expected; the litigant will be wondering what kind of Country he found himself. For the fact he has spent most of his life in London, I am very sure he must be laughing at the lawlessness of Nigeria which buttresses his preference of calling Nigeria a” Zoo”. It is becoming an embarrassment that needs to be addressed, Tsoho does not consider his face any longer, what is considered is the wish of the pay-master.

The court cannot bind any longer, if the court orders for Kanu’s release, Buhari will flout and do the one he wants. If the court makes a ruling and Buhari opposes it, the court will overrule itself. It goes from one end to another while the Nigerian press customizes truth to feeding lies. Nobody is ready to submit a brown envelope and Biafra news websites have overtaken them. The shambolic trial calls for help and we are not ready to go on dwelling on this matter for the rest of the year.

Peaceful agitation is a civil matter and it is a fundamental right, Nnamdi Kanu has declined to raise a stick, a gun or any form of weapon. He raised flags and fliers, calling for self-governance. For peaceful demand, we have been killed, incarcerated and attacked with chemical weapon even in death. We have been tortured and forced to disappear, our lives have been made worthless as nothing is meaningful anymore.

Before the court they have accused us for expressing our wish within the confines of law. They said because we peacefully and lawfully demand what they don’t like that we are terrorists; when the court said we are not terrorists; they said we are felons; we are people that fight to dismantle a government simply because we are asking that government to recognize us as a sovereign entity. They brought us to their court again for the court to talk, when the court talked, they said no that they would talk what they want and not what the court wants.

They said they have witnesses that will tell where we kept arms in London, witnesses that will say how we are going about our treason. What will these witnesses say that have not been said on radio Biafra? We don’t hide anything and so witnesses became irrelevant. By virtue of persisting that masquerades will be their witnesses, then they have no witnesses. This civil matter, a matter that has never involved arms or any form of violence, They now told us that masquerades will testify against us after telling us the previous time that only human beings will testify against us. They are really confused and tired, we are also tired, and could we please allow external courts help us?

They are finding it hard to nail us because we are whiter than white, they have failed to find a spot because we are spotless. Justice is the end product of the court, it must be dispensed and we see it coming. They have searched and searched for what to anchor on to justify their evil plan but nowhere to hold as we are whiter than snow. They want to jail us but nobody even agreed to stand as witness. If truly they have human beings to stand as witness against us, why then are they opting for masquerades?

They have said everything they want to say, the court has done its part hence it can’t hold us but they have disagreed with the court because they want to do their part and make sure it prevails. All these going on will die and go away if we agree to abandon our lawful demand, they are oppressors but cannot keep us down. Nigerian courts have shown incompetence in discharge of justice and have lost our confidence. I am tired and i believe you are also tired, let us go international and give justice a chance.

  1. I am also tired dear. The case has soured. They are beating about the bush in shame. Tsoho Kpoma has cut his legs and cannot move further. Maybe he is a graduate as a result of Expo. He has in perpetuity, lost his integrity.
