For Family Writers

When suspected divers hit a Shell underwater pipeline months ago, interrupting oil flows and forcing the company to shut down its 250,000 barrel-a-day Forcados export terminal for weeks, I wrote an article titled "We are Freedom Fighters not militants", and the need for President Muhammadu Buhari not to jettison the demand of those responsible for the destruction. Their main demand is the restoration of the sovereign state of Biafra and the unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Director of Radio Biafra/Biafra Television. But Buhari blatantly refused to dialogue but instead sent his murderous Islamic armed forces to invade the creeks and riverine areas in Biafraland, but his directive was in vain and yielded no results.

Few weeks ago, Chevron Valve Platform in Abiteye, Warri North council area of Delta State was blown up, the platform is a major connecting point where all other platforms link up and serves as a fulcrum to chevron BOP and the Chevron Tank farm, the destruction has halted all operations of the company in the region. The "Biafran Avengers" as they are popularly known in the streets of Biafraland, have claimed responsibility for the attacks on both platforms and have boldly claimed that attack on the facilities is in line with its promise to the Nigerian government to cripple the economy. It should be noted that the Nigeria economy which solely depends on exploitation of crude oil in Biafraland for survival is at a 65% collapse without a remedy in sight. The group of freedom fighters have threatened to also attack oil facilities in Lagos and Abuja,a threat I envision as a guarantee and will be carried out if their demand is not met.

Recently, I had an interaction with a former senior colleague, an American who is also a consultant in oil drilling rig movements and an expert in underwater diving, he spoke as thus: " Chima! If what I am reading about the destructions of underwater pipelines in Nigeria is true, then I must confess that those responsible are highly sophisticated and surely knows what they are doing. I bet they are not Nigerians but foreigners because it requires highly intelligent experts to carry out such procedures". I enlightened my American ex-colleague that those responsible are not foreigners but Biafrans seeking their right to self determination and he became alarmed and said "If these men are Biafrans, they must be listened to or else any more of their onslaughts will bring the oil industry in Nigeria to a standstill and I don't think I will be coming back to Nigeria for any contract with all these happenings".

Spokesman of the Defense Headquarters, Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar, told Newsmen that the Avengers are faceless and invisible, hence they come out from their hiding, blow up oil facilities and disappear into thin air. He said several attempts to track them down have met brick wall, consequently the security forces have become handicapped and helpless.

I must commend the Biafran Avengers for seamlessly carrying out their attacks without killing any innocent persons. I am not an advocate of violence but the government of Muhammadu Buhari has shown and spoken loudly that they hate peaceful approach to settling issues. The Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) have been peaceful and still are, but what they get in return for their peaceful approach is maiming, decapitation and killings unleashed on them by the murderous Islamic armed forces of Nigeria under strict directive from Buhari. The Avengers have shown that they are sophisticated and superior to the Nigeria military and are not in the creeks to get attention for government amnesty or contracts, but for the total freedom of their people in Biafraland.

There are unconfirmed reports that former President Goodluck Jonathan is been touted by Muhammadu Buhari to help him speak to the freedom fighters in the creek. I want to advice Goodluck Jonathan to desist from such and not to fall into the traps of the Northern oligarchy, who are trying everything in their disposal to send him to jail. Also, Chief Edwin Clark, Tompolo and Ateke Tom and other greedy Biafrans should concentrate on their personal businesses and should never get in the way of the Avengers for their own good. Muhammadu Buhari maybe an ex-military man but I want him and his cohorts to understand that if the thousand of peaceful protesters decides to pick up arms to face him and his Islamic military, the actions of the Avengers will be a child's play. Nnamdi Kanu and other innocent Biafrans in prisons must be released and Biafra must be restored!
