OPEN LETTER TO COL. JOE ACHUZIA: OUR BARGAIN

OPEN LETTER TO COL. JOE ACHUZIA: OUR BARGAIN

By Ifeanyi Chijioke

For Family Writers

Any time I remember your exploits in Biafra war, your story that never fades; I become stronger and motivated to do more for Biafra. Radio Biafra has never ceased mentioning your name neither have Biafrans ceased cherishing you. It is a huge disappointment coming from you our honored veteran that you gave insincere men the impetus to sabotaging our effort. You also disappointed your true heart by today dinning with people you ought not to. While Ikedife, Sylvester, Ike Agu, and Ohaneze are unfaithfully or jealously trying to derail a moving train, I never expected you to buy that because tomorrow, Biafra shall decorate you. You have a high stake in Biafra than these politicians you have keyed.

December last year 2015, I led a team of Family writers to your domain; we sat down and talked in what was more than an interview. I pleaded that we discuss like a father and a son, and then it gave us the opportunity to pour our heart. I am not supposed to bring this whole thing to the public, but due to IPOB hides nothing and do everything in the public, I will explicitly state everything with hope that these men ranting from one pole to another may hear your words, know your true position and then rest or follow up.

Our discussion which we fully have in record, I listened to that your voice last night before writing this to you.  I understood that I failed on my own side because I did not reach my own end of the bargain which I will state as we agreed. That I may communicate to IPOB under Nnamdi Kanu to make you the leader of Elder council. That I may communicate to Nnamdi Kanu to name you or your Ikedife’s group as his negotiator. That I may communicate that Nnamdi Kanu may be under supreme elders order. These hence communicated that you will in return, demand for the release of Nnamdi Kanu through Ohaneze and other means. That Buhari is looking for whom he would release Nnamdi Kanu to and you (we) will take that position. That with the backing of elders, nobody can touch Nnamdi Kanu, upon the implementation of the bargain shall you (we) fight relentlessly for Kanu’s release.

I so much tried to carry out my own end of the bargain, I could not communicate you, that very Saturday you assured me that Ohaneze will host a meeting in Enugu and demand Kanu’s release. I saw that on dailies, I could not contact you to appreciate you but hence you have started working on your bargain, I started working as well but mine was fruitless. You know how resilient Nnamdi Kanu can be; he would rather die than listen or take what will not sincerely restore Biafra. He has this slogan “Only Chukwuokikeabiama can give us Biafra” that affected me so much hence he declined any negotiation, plea or whatsoever. My bargain was dead on arrival and every effort to discuss with other superiors was futile. The bottom line was, everybody should work to restore Biafra without seeking relevance rather let it be a passion that flows spontaneously.

Before the demands as made, I want to tell you that we already honor you and see you as someone that should die for Nnamdi Kanu in your own way. You need not be consulted before fighting for Biafra, you are one of the allegories of 1967 class of Biafra and it hurts me that you have allowed men who neither fought for Biafra use you for political benefits. What is more glorious than when Biafra comes and we make a statue of you, Ojukwu  Effiong and others with gold. Is Nnamdi Kanu not fighting to make the dream you once had that never came to reality come to you today? Are you unknowingly fighting to again puncture your dead but resurrected dream?

For my failure to significantly integrate or communicate resolves and due to Nnamdi Kanu disagreed to negotiate Biafra, these men you gave impetus now fight dirty to destroy what we labored for through Nnamdi Kanu.  Ikedife was first to come, Sylvester who is expert in dragging Ojukwu’s properties than carrying on Ojukwu’s legacies came, Ohaneze leader came and then Ike Agu. What is the need fighting the Indigenous People of Biafra when we shall all know and futuristically gain in Biafra.

You might wonder why I prioritized you in this letter, though as the first secretary general of Ohanze and the brain behind Billie human right, and owing that Ohaneze and Billie are being used by Buhari to target Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB, this letter ought to duly come to your table, you are the founder or co-founder of them all. Colonel; you detailed to me how you coined IPOB. You detailed to me your role in opening of Ohaneze and you detailed everything that I came to understand that despite you don’t come out to talk, your brain is behind everything going on.  The dot ends on your table and this is why as a respected man, you need to use your position or I rather say you end unnecessary attack.

You must not do what will floor your respect and make millions of Indigenous People of Biafra see you as an enemy to them. You told me that Nnamdi Kanu is a catalyst to Biafra restoration. You told me that yes Nnamdi Kanu came and sacrificed his life for Biafra. You told me that Nnamdi Kanu has restored and internationalized Biafra. You told me that the mistake Nnamdi Kanu made was not carrying you all along. Then I asked three questions you could not answer, as follows. (1) Is how Biafra is restored more important than restoration of Biafra? (2) Does Biafra restoration have a code of restoration or a particular pattern and if anyone restores Biafra with another pattern, it won’t be Biafra or Ikedifes’ won’t accept such Biafra? (3) How will you see a son that left his old father to keep working when he has grown, Nnamdi Kanu starting from where you failed, as your son doesn’t he deserve your praise? (4) When you said is cowardice to abandon Biafra and I asked, now Nnamdi Kanu has taken up Biafra, if there is sincerity, won’t you give your voice as your bone can’t fight for Biafra again?

Sir these questions were not answered and I never pressed for it, my reason was because I know that Nnamdi is blameless. I honor you but Biafra restoration project is greater than anyone and this is why I will state clearly, I carry the feelings of millions of Biafrans and I can tell you that millions of Biafrans are disappointed in you. There is time left for you to renounce these men or call them to order, if Nnamdi Kanu is killed, another Nnamdi Kanu that will come will embrace violence and that violence will consume every perceived enemy. If Buhari is dead by then, his children will be hunted down and the children of men that sabotaged Biafra will be hunted down as well. Colonel, that way you treated Ifeajuna is the way we shall treat this generation of saboteurs.

Finally, we the indigenous people of Biafra want the release of our leader and restoration of Biafra, we are not ready to negotiate with anyone till he is released and he decides what happens. We are not pleading to anyone because we are sure Biafra shall be restored but woe betides anyone that shall work against us nor for money and relevance suffer our leader. Only by fiercely fighting for the release of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra and the restoration of Biafra shall we forgive and continue in honor of your personality. Making up for the disappointment is only but the virtue of an elder.
