A BIAFRA JOURNALIST ESCAPES DEATH| KIDNAPPED AND BRUTALIZED BY AGENTS OF BUHARI

A BIAFRA JOURNALIST ESCAPES DEATH| KIDNAPPED AND BRUTALIZED BY AGENTS OF BUHARI

Ifeanyi Chijioke can authoritatively confirm that CHIMA ONYEKACHI a pro-Biafra journalist was kidnapped on Friday, 8th of July at Obigbo area in Portharcourt and was severely brutalized by the time he escaped from the kidnappers. He has not been hospitalized as at the time of filing this report because his abductors are not yet known and could trace him to any hospital he might be taken to. There are strong indications that this is part of the clamp down on Biafrans. The abductors intelligently lured him to a closed end when he was called to pay a visit to a wounded Biafran, the injured Biafran was said to have been ill from protest injury but still at home as hospital bill could not be afforded. He however sympathized with the caller and headed to meet the victim and to also give a proper publicity for him to be assisted but unknown to him, it was a trap set to lure him to a particular place.

In recent time, Chima Onyekachi came to public with his pictures scattered all over the internet, he had previously complained of the brutality and secret execution of Biafrans and claimed the desperation of Buhari might make him confront even journalists. He has significantly reported some top news across Biafra land and tagged his pictures. “He is just starting to make his mark; he has covered a lot of news and shown his pictures. He must have been tracked down by agents of Buhari, nothing should be ruled out here. Buhari is desperate and he might likely have started going after pro-Biafra journalists” Chukwuemeka Nduka, our national Investigator said.

Giving account of his ordeal, Chima Onyekachi narrated that he came back from his village after a break; he chose to spend more time in Portharcourt before heading to Asaba to meet his colleagues for a journal investigation. “I came back and I was going to spend two weeks here but a number called me on Friday and pleaded I see him on his sick bed to help him as he is down, he told me he is a victim of peaceful protest so I went as he directed me but only to be lured into a house.

I was confronted by two hefty men like force men; they got me down, took my ATM, tied my eyes and started beating me. They smoked marijuana and disposed ashes on me, I was narrowed down to a rag, and I got beaten like a criminal. I resisted them at first and when they found out my spirit is strong, they tied my eyes and hands” he paused and took a deep breath, his weak voice was fading but he continued “Only the name Chukwuokikeabiama saved me, they tied my eyes so I didn’t know where I was, I shouted the name ‘Chukwuokekeabiama’ and made some noise before people ran to my aid and they fled. I was only helped, they took my blackberry phone, left my ATM for me, they told me I was going to die but before then that I should call people that would pay my ransom” he explained
Speaking on the development a close friend said “The people might have decided to kidnap him and extort money from him because they see him as a rich guy hence he is trending on the internet and pro-Biafra newspapers. But they don’t know that as a journalist, he is not even being paid, he spends his own money for on all his trips. His medicated glass just expired last week, he was complaining of how he would raise 20 thousand Niara before this bad news. I am not ruling out that Buhari might be after journalists in support of Biafra, Chima laughed it off and said he is ready to be a hero for Biafra” his friend opined.

All effort to get his picture proved futile as he could not snap or get someone to snap him due to the classified situation “I will make my picture public by tomorrow or Monday, I lost my phone and need someone to help on that, my swollen lips is disgusting” he said. I cannot firmly report that he is taking treatment yet because his voice and state of mind are nothing to write home about. There is every need for IPOB Igweocha coordinator to take control and see to his quick recovery.
