CHIDIEBERE ONWUDIWE AND EVERYONE AFFILIATED TO IPOB ARE NOT TERRORISTS

The desperation of President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria to tag the Indigenous People of Biafra lead by detained Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, as a "terrorist organization" is provocative. The state secret service - DSS, have concocted all manner of lies and falsehood to persuade the world that members of IPOB are terrorists and have always met a brick wall. After failing to prove the charge of "sponsoring terrorism" against Nnamdi Kanu, as he was acquitted and released unconditionally by the court, the DSS have set in motion plans to tag Biafrans affiliated with IPOB as terrorists.
It is noteworthy that Amnesty International recently affirmed the peaceful nature of members of IPOB and has demanded for an investigation on the killings against them by the Nigeria armed forces and Police. After the DSS failed to substantiate its lies of discovering in a forest in Biafraland, about 50 shallow graves and the carcass of five Fulani herdsmen allegedly killed by members of IPOB, the DSS has shifted into arresting Biafrans with the intention of forcing them into testifying against their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
The DSS in a press release claimed it has arrested a "known member of IPOB in connection with plans to carry out coordinated attacks against religious bodies/edifices; police check points and the Computer Village in Ikeja, Lagos State with Improvised Explosive Devices,” "the known IPOB member was arrested while making logistics supplies for their nefarious plan”. The DSS further claimed that there are plans by the IPOB to carry out terrorist attacks during the Sallah celebration across the country.
The so called "known member of IPOB" is CHIDIEBERE ONWUDIWE, who is the National Coordinator of IPOB and he recently gave a press interview to Daily Sun media publication. He is well known to local and international human rights and media organizations as well as members of international diplomatic community. Mr. Onwudiwe was arrested in the early morning of 22nd of June 2016 in his home located in Rumuokwurusi area of Ugwuocha (Port Harcourt), by agents of DSS who violently broke his door and swooped on him, he has not been seen or heard from till date. He is non violent and has never used or advocated violence even in the face of brutality and killings of his people by the Nigeria armed forces and Police, especially on May 30th 2016 during the commemoration of the Biafra Heroes Day in Nkpor, Anambra state.
A university training of mechanical and chemical engineering does not make him a candidate for “making and detonating bombs” as childishly theorized by the DSS. Chidiebere Onwudiwe was never caught making any purchase for any weapon but was arrested after he was trailed to his home in the evening of 21st of June 2016 when he attended a routine IPOB family meeting. The DSS in its desperation to lie against IPOB have reduced itself from an agency of intelligence gathering to doing the jobs of the CID and SARS (Nigeria Police Force) which is suppose to tackle common street crimes like armed robbery, kidnapping or gun running. It is a shame that the DSS has no intelligence report on activities of Boko Haram Islamic sect and Fulani Herdsmen terrorists who have ceaselessly preached and exhibited violence. The DSS in its criminal stigmatization of IPOB has shown clearly to the world the level of personalization of the security agency by Buhari against political opposition.
The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, have been provoked by all means by the Buhari administration through its army, DSS, police, etc to abandon its strong nonviolence avowal and methodology but have resisted them. IPOB has decided to exercise every peaceful approach to seek for her self-determination and must not been seen as cowards. We are a peaceful people and we are not hidden as shown across the world in our various protests and demonstrations. Biafrans are the major occupants of Ikeja Computer Village, and IPOB will never be part of activities that will destroy her people.
Engineer Chidiebere Onwudiwe is not a terrorist, he was unjustly arrested and unconstitutionally detained since 22nd of June 2016 and only for his arrest to be made public few days to the Sallah celebration, to falsely justify the comparison of IPOB with the Boko Haram terror group that is notorious in engaging in deadly bombing activities particularly during high profile religious activities such as Christmas and Sallah feasts. The Nigeria government lead by Muhammadu Buhari must be made to account for the killings of innocent and peaceful Biafrans seeking for their self-determination. Every acts of criminal stigmatization against IPOB, by the unprofessional and inter-service unfriendly DSS will fail woefully. True Biafrans shall never be cajoled to testify against their leader, Nnamdi Kanu, whose continuous incarceration has brought Nigeria to the brink of collapse.
