BREAKING: AGATU ON FIRE, AS THE ETHNIC CLEANSING OF THE PEOPLE BY THE FULANI HERDERS CONTINUES

BREAKING: AGATU ON FIRE, AS THE ETHNIC CLEANSING OF THE PEOPLE BY THE FULANI HERDERS CONTINUES

Moses Agbo Obinna Reporting for Family Writers

The unabated ethnic cleansing of the indigenous people of Agatu by the Islamic terrorist popularly known as "Fulani herdsmen" went bloody again after a short period of break without the Nigerian security's intervention. According to a reliable source, an Agatu indigene who spoke to Moses Agbo Obinna of Family Writers Press yesterday said that the ugly incident started at the early hours of yesterday, the 13th of May 2017.  Surprisingly,  the Fulani herders regrouped  after these short break from killing as a result of outrage by the villagers and surrounded some of the Agatu villages. They raped women they captured, destroyed their farms and killed any  man that comes their way.

Another eye witness  also revealed how some of the Northern elites are sponsoring the Fulani herdsmen. They have held series of meetings and concluded that without conquering the Agatu kingdom it will be very difficult for them to capture any other part of Idoma land and  the entire South. He cited the likes of the incumbent governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Alamakura, whom some of the captured Fulani terrorists confessed to be one of their many sponsors.

Furthermore, the eye witness ascertained that the main reason for this ethnic cleansing is not all about grazing land for cows because there are lots of thick forests suitable for grazing both for the herds and the entire North;  rather, there are cemented plans to either Islamize them or erase them completely and then take over their land albeit with force, killings and intimidation.

When he was asked if there are  security measures to protect lives and property, he insisted that whenever the Fulani herders start killing his people, the  security will not only pave way for them but will also aid and abate all their atrocious crime against the indigenes of Agatu.  If the Agatus decide to fight in defence, the security will appear and defend  the Fulani herders.

However, as at the time of filing  this report, so many villages which include Agube, Agagbo, Adana, Ayila, Inyiyi, Ocholonya and environs have evacuated to safer  places while others are still scampering for safety   since the   Nigerian  security operatives cannot protect or secure their lives and property anymore .
Invariably, the number of casualties are yet to be ascertained as everyone is still on their heels for a safety abode for survival.
