BIAFRA: RELEASE ALL BIAFRA AGITATORS IN NIGERIA DETENTION SO WE CAN DEBATE: AN OPEN LETTER TO NIGERIA GOVT

BIAFRA: RELEASE ALL BIAFRA AGITATORS IN NIGERIA DETENTION SO WE CAN DEBATE BIAFRA'S AGITATION: AN OPEN LETTER TO NIGERIA GOVT

From Mazi Onyebuchi Eze (A Biafran Activist)

19/6/2017

Nigeria Govt,
RELEASE BIAFRA AGITATORS IN NIGERIA PRISONS SO DEBATE ON BIAFRA CAN COMMENCE

Based on the news at the disposal of Family Writers news room, that the Coordinator of Nigeria government Affairs, Prof Yemi Osinbajo has invited Igbo-Biafran Political and Opinion leaders in conjunction with their Arewa counterparts and schedule a meeting to be held on 22/6/2017 with them over the issue of Biafra, that I, Mazi Onyebuchi Eze (A Biafran Activist) with Family Writers of Indigenous People of Biafra wish to tell you, Nigeria government under the Cordinator, Prof Osinbajo that such a meeting is a slap, a ridicule, a mockery and a disrespect to those Igbo leaders, whether they understand it or not due the fact that thousands of Biafran agitators are still kept in detention in various prisons across the defunct Nigeria federation. It has become necessary to ask Prof Yemi Osinbajo, how do you think that Igbo leaders whom you invited will feel during the meeting with you as they are bound to remember that Mazi Benjamin Mmadubugwu will be completing 2 years in unlawful detention without trial by next month being July for committing no crime other than the same Biafra issue which you people will discuss? How will Igbo leaders feel during the meeting when they remember that Mazi David Nwawuisi, Mazi Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Mazi Bright Chimezie and thousands of other Biafran agitators in detention in Port-Harcourt, Asaba, Onitsha, Enugu, Abakaliki and Nnewi prisons are still tyrannically held in detention even against court verdicts ordering them to be released? I do not even want to talk about thousands of Biafran agitators that have gone down via military massacre on different occasions on same issue of Biafra as that could be topic of another day.

Oh Nigeria government, the only thing that can put Igbo leaders coming to the meeting in the right frame of mind as they come to the meeting is for Nigeria Ministry of Justice under Abubakar Malami SAN, who doubles as Minister of Justice and also Atourney-General of Nigeria to withdraw all of the meaningless case pending on these agitators and order all the prisons in Nigeria to release anybody held on the issue of Biafra. It has become obvious that the agitation of Biafra is not a crime known in both local and international laws, conventions and protocols, therefore the agitators should be released and then debate on Biafran referendum can continue without grudges from Igbos against Nigeria. If all these Biafra detainees are released, Igbo leaders who are invited to the meeting with Arewa leaders will come to the meeting without much grudges against anybody, but if you continue to keep Biafran agitators in detention for no crime and at same time invite their fathers to meeting to discuss way forward on the issue which they are agitating, what do any reasonable person expect from a collection of elders whose children are in detention for an issue that is not a crime before the world?

Oh Nigeria government, have you not played hypocrisy enough? Keeping Biafran agitators in detention for merely demanding for Biafra restoration peacefully and calling Igbo leaders to the meeting on a way forward is the height of molestation, insult and caricature on Igbo people in general and their leaders in particular. Igbo leaders can only maintain decorum and manage their emotion during the meeting with Arewa Elders should Nigeria Ministry of Justice orders total release of Biafrans in detention before the meeting. If not, there will be a serious chaos in the meeting which will make the meeting to end in a deadlock or war of words between Igbo leaders and their Arewa counterparts.

Oh Nigeria government, how long will you continue to make caricature of Igbo race? Release all Biafrans held in detention if we will have a tranquility in the forthcoming meeting between the government of Nigeria, Igbo leaders and Arewa elders. As for Igbo leaders, Nigeria government is making caricature of them should Nigeria government continue to hold their children in detention illegally. I am now expecting a positive nod of acceptance from Nigeria government. Thanks!

Yours Sincerely,
Mazi Onyebuchi Eze
