SHAME TO THOSE WHO SAY THAT THE URHOBOS, ITSEKIRIS AND THE ENTIRE SOUTH-SOUTH ARE NOT BIAFRANS

SHAME TO THOSE WHO SAY THAT THE URHOBOS, ITSEKIRIS AND THE ENTIRE SOUTH-SOUTH ARE NOT BIAFRANS

Lack of  viable historical facts is a very disappointing experience in our society today. It is gravely an enslavement mentality which claims that past is past and the present remains unchangeable. This is a bizarre show of pitiable ignorance and imbecility, as no one can meaningfully build his future without evaluating the past. Keeping record of past events is a necessary ingredient for growth according to Pope Francis the 1st. Lending credence to this assertion, Marcus further said "A people without the knowledge of their history, origin and culture, is like a tree without roots".

Expunging History in school syllables  in Nigeria today is a major misnomer that is greatly making our scholars vulnerable, myopic and grossly incapable of reasoning. They are helplessly left with superfluity which Banovac opined as being potentially more dangerous than mere ignorance, as it creates falsehood and  insecurity. This toxicity in our historical environment has robbed even our elders that a good number of them are suffering from dementia or lost of memory.

It is therefore very pathetic to see the so-called elders shamelessly, dishing out false and baseless information to succeeding generations.

The Vanguard Newspaper of 8th of June 2017, published a written submission and I quote, "Urhobo rejects inclusion in Biafra Map, warns IPOB, MASSOB". It reads in part, "Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Senator, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, dismisses linkage between the Urhobos in Delta state and Biafra", saying that there is no connection between his people and Biafrans. The same daily newspaper (Vanguard) wrote: "Remove Delta state from your Map", Ovie tells MASSOB. Aide to Delta state Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa on Special Duties on Media, Mr. Ossai Ovie, had said that Delta state is not part of Biafra. He clearly pointed out that it is patently erroneous for the Biafran agitators to include Delta state in the Biafran Map as the state is not a part of South-east region and had never subscribed to the agitation of Biafran sovereignty of the Indigenous People of Biafra.

On the 1st of June 2017, the same Nigeria brown-envelop Newspaper called Vanguard, published another immoral and fallacious article that suggests that the so-called South-south region which is a creation of the Nigeria vampiric and cabalistic political bigots, disowns secession plans of Biafrans and expressed confidence in "One Nigeria". The South- south Progressive coalition also warned the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Movement of the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), to desist forthwith from including the Niger Delta region in their purported fraudulent activities. The President General of the South-south Progressive Coalition, Amuna Success claimed that the group has learnt authoritatively that those funding the IPOB/MASSOB are highly placed politicians and businessmen of Biafra origin who own choice properties and command viable economic investiments across Nigeria.

Not really done with the spate of jaundiced and crude propaganda, the shameless and unethical Nigeria Vanguard Newspaper, on the 9th of June 2017, carried another surreptitious story which reads" Warri, Benin Invasion by Biafra, never again will Itsekiri tolerate such". It went ahead to say "Itsekiri Leaders Of Thought (ILOT), were reacting yesterday (8th of June 2017) in Warri, Delta state, to renew demand for the creation of Biafra Republic from Nigeria by some Igbo youths from the South-east whose proposals included the whole of Delta state. Iteskiri Leaders Of  Thought in a statement signed by one Chief Edward Ekpoko, Chairman and A.S. Menes, Secretary, maintained that Itsekiri homeland is not an integral part of that enterprise. We recall with pains, the day the defunct Biafra Army invaded Warri and Benin on the 9th of August, 1967, the statement went ahead, and said never again will the Itsekiri people tolerate such an invasion into their land.

This chain of morbidity, damage and lack of verifiable historical facts can cause a people as churned out by these paid agents of government, tacitly confirms what Banovac meant when he stated that "A man's vanity often goes hand in hand with his lack of knowledge". The children of this generation have eaten unripe fruits and very definitely their teeth are set on edges. I would at this juncture therefore, caution these paid and moronic agents of the Nigeria government to comprehensively carry out their researches before rushing down to their media surrogates than gallivanting around, peddling falsehood, showcasing stark illiteracy and stupidity.

I don't know if Mr. Ossai Ovie is aware of Comrade Dibia Nwawo, who happened to be the most senior officer in the entire Biafra Army. This man was the third in command in Biafra Military High Command, although he was senior to both Generals

Odimegwu Ojukwu and Philip Effiong. Nwawo was commissioned in 1954 at Ettenhall, United kingdom as a Second Lieutenant, Effiong in 1956 and Ojukwu in 1957. Nwawo was a native of Onicha-Olona, Aniocha-North Local Government Area of Delta state. He was enlisted into the Army on the 1st of December, 1950 and was commissioned as an officer on the 28th of May 1954. He was in-charge of Administration, Biafran Army Headquarters, Commander of the 11th  and 13th Divisions of the Biafran Army both of which he commanded professionally and effectively at different periods. Lastly, he commanded the Guerilla Commando Unit.

Nwawo was aged 92 years and eventually passed on in his hometown after a brief illness.

Chief Edward Ekpoko and his partner, Amuna Success, I know you may not have known Akpan Utuk, an Ibibio, from the present day Akwa Ibom state. He was a Colonel, who commanded 16th Division of the Biafran Army which defended Owerri. General Philip Asuquo Effiong was the first Vice President of the Biafran Republic. He was born in Ibiono Ibom in the present day Akwa Ibom also, on the 18th of November, 1925. He died in the year 2003. Do you also know Chief Frank Opigo, the Biafran Patriot who suggested the name -  BIAFRA, is an Ijaw man? Chief Opigo was a Principal of Okrika Grammar School, in Rivers state. He suggested the name Biafra, to General Odimegwu Ojukwu which adopted for the nation. He died in 2010, at the age of 84.

All these courageous heroes came from the so-called South-south region. These are verifiable facts of history which you were not taught in school. I blame your fathers who failed in their duties to properly train and educate you in more profitable and respectful ways that would have remained indelible in you so long as life permits.

No matter how much financial gratification you may have disgracefully garnered from your deluded masters, it is indisputably correct that your misleading publications stemmed from the intimidating and helpless popularity of the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, on whose command, Biafrans recorded world acclaimed epochal "Sit-At-Home" exercise carried out in the entire Biafraland on 30th May 2017. But I assure you of more  civil "devastating  statements" from Biafrans. Your evil machinations can never succeed.
