SOUTH EAST PEOPLES ASSEMBLY(SEPA) DISASSOCIATES ITSELF FROM CALLING FOR NNAMDI KANU RE-ARREST

SOUTH EAST PEOPLES ASSEMBLY(SEPA) DISASSOCIATES ITSELF FROM CALLING FOR NNAMDI KANU RE-ARREST

By Nwachukwu Victor Samuel
For Family Writers Press

In a PRESS RELEASE by the self acclaimed non political South East based group Disassociated itself from a purported letter written to Chairman of Federal High Court Calling for Re-arrest of Nnamdi Kanu for allegedly violating bail condition. The statement reads "The attention of the leadership of the prestigious South-East Peoples Assembly (SEPA) has been drawn to a purported letter allegedly written by a certain faceless Prince Chukwuemeka Okorie urging the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Binta Nyako to revoke the bail given to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The faceless signatory to the said letter claimed he was the President of SEPA and wrote on that capacity. While SEPA by this release denies any knowledge of this impostor by his or her featureless name as its President, we wish to reiterate that SEPA as a responsible South East non-political organization is not known for betraying and destroying our people. SEPA as a representative of Ndigbo in the five South East states believes in the native Igbo traditional ways of disciplining erring people, and we have never explored these channels well known to all in any way if Kanu had gone wrong. SEPA has never invited, queried or cautioned Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in any way he had gone contrary to his bail conditions as no such report has been formally presented to us.

SEPA as a legal and responsible organization believes that peoples’ freedom of existence as enshrined in the various chatters of the United Nation should never be suppressed for any reason. In the meantime, we have critically looked at the activities of IPOB as championed by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu over the years, and we have not seen any way he has gone contrary to legally laid down rules set out by the United Nations for the self-actualization or determination of any Indigenous people.
SEPA also believes that where people of the South East are treated with equality and equity in the scheme of things in the country, Nnamdi Kanu and his group wouldn’t have been in existence.

For someone to use the prestigious name of our organization to ridicule the collective quest of our people is unacceptable, dangerous and against the onye aghala nwanne ya philosophy of ndigbo. For purposes of clarity, the Federal High Court Abuja has its tools and mechanism of monitoring its pronouncements on suspects. We at SEPA believe that the court is in a better position to track Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s activities after it released him on bail. Where he is found wanting the law should take its course. SEPA condemns the said Prince Chukwuemeka Okorie for being a threat to the revered image of our organization and therefore calls on the general public to disregard and ignore him as we do not know him in SEPA.

SEPA will continue to uphold and promote love, peace and unity among people of the South-East.

  2. This is the main the main reason we need biafra. So that injustice will stay with hausa fulani and yuroba. Since they can not see what to say but quiet from the truth.

  3. What a shame! So they now have masquerade SEPA too? They failed woefully to have masquerade witnesses to testify against our leader Nnamdi Kanu. Here goes the the cowards again hiding their faces behind the wall to write cold calculated dubious ill minded letter? The Hausa-Fulani, Yoruba and British partner in crime cowards won't even have the gut to show their faces to the world to see!!!
