IPOB DETAINEES IN OKPORO DIVISIONAL POLICE STATION REGAINS FREEDOM

The unwarranted and secret abduction of Biafran youths by the Nigerian military forces has continued unabated. There has been several unreported and unfounded abduction of innocent citizens everywhere in Biafraland and in different parts of Nigeria. There has also been reports of abduction of Biafrans in Igweocha on allegations that can not be substantiated with concrete evidence and has become a means of livelihood to the men in khaki.

In recent weeks, the Indeginous People Of Biafra within and around Rumuodara Artillery zone in Igweocha have become a money making venture for the Okporo divisional police station in the area. They have become prey in the hands of the Nigerian military forces who are their predators. The rate of arrests within this area has become a thing of worry and can no longer be torelated by aggrieved citizens there.
Within two weeks, several arrests and secret abductions have been carried out by the Nigerian Police force at Okporo Divisional Police Station Igweocha Biafraland.
Nnaemeka Odinakachi and others paid not less than #40,000 each to regain their freedom.

Recall that it was in this very police station that shooting of our members started during the Trump inauguration rally on 20th January, 2017.

However, there seems to be no slowing down by the Okporo Divisional Police Station in Igweocha Port Harcourt in the illegal arrests.
The incessant arrests and particularly the recent arrest of Biafrans by this police men prompted IPOB Rumuodara zone to mobilise and led a peaceful rally to the police station to demand the unconditional release from detention of Mazi Nnaemeka Odinakachi and Chukwumuanya Samuel who incidentally was one of the men kidnapped from his shop by the police on 24th July, 2017 and others.

The rally was led by Mazi Samuel Nzeh, Rumuodara zonal coordinator and Mazi Linus Obona, welfare officer amongst others. The rally kicked off around 10am in the morning and ended at about 1pm in front of the police station.

The rally attracted many passerby and the men of the police force in the station. The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) was not left out as he was amazed to see such a mammoth crowd singing in one voice, demanding the release of their own. The people sent an unmistakable message to the police officers to as a matter of peace halt the incessant arrests and illegal incarceration of Biafra activists within the area. The message was welcomed as the DPO while addressing the crowd urged the Biafra activists to remain calm and peaceful in their approach, even as he promised to without no waste of time release the victims. And was finally released.

However, Mazi Nnaemeka Odinakachi and other detainees showed profound gratitude to all Biafrans who stood by them during the dark days in the hands of the Nigerian police and who worked assiduously to making sure they regained their freedom. According to the victims " it is now we understand the meaning of onuru ube nwanne agbala oso", even as they commended the leader of Indigenous People Of Biafra Mazi Nnamdi Kanu for being resolute and leading the struggle from the front.
