VOX POPULI, VOX DEI: The Voice Of The People, The Voice Of God

VOX POPULI, VOX DEI: The Voice Of The People, The Voice Of God

The Voice of the people is the Voice of God, as the saying goes. Democracy is defined as the government of the people, for the people and by the people. Realistically interpreted, it is a form of government in which the power of decision and execution of policies and other relative matters that have direct bearings on the people, are vested on the people themselves.

The masses have the unfettered power to choose (elect) by ballot, whom their representatives or leaders should be. This therefore means that the masses (people) have the supremacy of power over the elected. But it is unfortunate that most of the time, reverse is rather the case. The elected wields so much power over the people they are democratically meant to serve in all facets of need ranging from thought, decision, feeling, education, health, wealth, movement, security, etc. They have become demigods and oppressors of the people as they not only intimidate, but kill and incarcerate even at will.

Practically speaking, the events of heinous criminality that took place on the 19th of January 2013 at Ezu River, Amansea, in Anambra state, on which over 50 promising young Biafran men were gruesomely murdered by the Nigeria security forces under the watch of Peter Obi, the then Governor of the state, is still fresh in our memories. Nobody till date has been indicted for having perpetrated such bizarre acts of death and denials.

REDA IT HERE: THE MYSTERY BEHIND EZU RIVER AND THE DUMPED BIAFRAN BODIES THEREIN

The 30th of May 2016 pogrom which over 150 family members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) were killed under the authority of the current Governor of the state, Willie Obiano, is yet handy. Even when confronted with some questions on what transpired in his state as the chief security officer, he bluntly and shamelessly denied of any death of anyone in the state, contrary to the comprehensive investigations carried out by Amnesty International. All these examples are clear pointers to the fact that these supposed leaders elected by the people to provide genuine and impactful democratic dividends, are really vampires who derive pleasure in random spilling of the blood of their own people.

On 2nd of June 2017 precisely, the Ebonyi state Governor, Dave Umahi, despatched some hooligans to go and beat up a journalist named Charles Otu just for carrying out his professional duties. Reports had it that the offence this fellow committed was his reportage (publication) of the atrocities being committed against the people by the Ebonyi state government.

In the face of all these unrelenting acts of impunity and atrocities by the so-called elected servants of the people against whom they are supposed to protect, is it then expedient to keep on voting into political offices, this crop of political vultures and thugs who take for sacrificial lambs, those through whose mandate they climbed to power? The people are very vexed by these developments and have unequivocally decided for a referendum that will see them out of a demonically contrapted Nigeria. It is a "No Response" to a delusional restructuring.

According to Beth Revis, and I quote: "A leader is not someone who forces others to make him stronger, but is someone who is willing to give his strength to others so that they may have the strength to stand on their own". The leaders we have are men who get their own strength by forcing their people to make them so.

John Quincy Adams stated that "if your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are then a leader". If truly John Quincy is correct in his assertion, it then means that none of these despotic men parading themselves as leaders are any but just mere opportunists. There is virtually none of these politicians one can be proud of. The truth remains that they have made themselves, anointed vampires and educated morons in the toxicated political waters of the Nigerian state, always hunting for preys like hungry lions, from amongst their own people. One Latin proverb says "Vox Populi, Vox Dei' meaning that "The Voice of the People is the Voice of God" and this to a greater extent cannot be disputed. The masses have woken up very consciously to the manipulative killing venom of these evil men, realising their potentiality in decision making processes.
These political hooligans have according to Shakespeare, "killed sleep and shall sleep no more".

The voice of the people is presently speaking and loudly too, that all we need is Biafra and not restructuring. The voice of the people is distinctively saying that we shall uncompromisingly boycott any election in Biafraland organised by Nigeria until a date is given for our referendum. The voice of Biafrans is saying in clear terms that we are not Nigerians and so the 18th of November 2017 scheduled Anambra state gubernatorial election must be boycotted. This will definitely send the signal across that power actually belongs to the people and not the elected traitors.

Since 1914, Biafrans have been voting and there hasn't been any tangible benefit derivable from it. The only compensation given to the people has been marginalisation, oppression, death and impoverishment. During their campaign tours, the immoral politicians deceive us with bogus, unattainable promises just to get our votes that will escort them into office for their own selfishness. To really render their nefarious activities impotent,  we must as a people keep to our resolution of boycotting any election billed to be conducted across Biafraland, using the forthcoming Anambra state  governorship election fixed for 18th of November 2017, as an example unless we are given a date for Biafra referendum. This is our opportunity to concretize our determination as a people in safeguarding our upcoming generations.

Enough of this enslavement, lies and deception. We must be wise reclaiming our heritage for most assuredly, victory is guaranteed.

#All Hail Biafra!
