BIAFRA: "NNAMDI KANU HAS NO MEANS OF LIVELIHOOD" - NIGERIAN ARMY: EVIDENCE THAT NNAMDI KANU IS UNDERGOING TORTURE IN MILITARY CUSTODY

For Family Writers

Judging by the latest Press Statement released by the Nigerian Army on Mazi Nnamdi, the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) published by virtually all the Nigerian Newspapers on 6/10/2017 that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has no means of livelihood in their analysis of his professional status, I am by this publication drawing the attention of IPOB legal team led by the erudite Barr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor to that publication which I have read on Punch Newspaper, Sun Newspaper, Vanguard Newspaper and Naij websites. I would like the Barr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor led IPOB legal Team to understand that this latest statement from the Nigerian army on Nnamdi Kanu occupational status simply implied that Nnamdi Kanu is undergoing an inhumane torture presently in the military custody. The Nigerian army is indeed torturing him and extracting these words from Mazi Nnamdi Kanu under duress because there is no how Nnamdi Kanu in his right frame of mind would say that he has no means of livelihood and still sustain his family and a residence in London, UK.

IPOB legal Team should by the information contained in the Nigerian military Press Statement extract another exhibit that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has been going through severe torture under the military custody when he would be brought to court by the military, come October 17th, 2017. However, it is important to let the world know that Nnamdi Kanu has been having fragile health condition which was the reason why the Nigerian Federal High Court presided over by Justice Binta Nyako granted him bail to undergo treatment.

As the Nigerian army must have been torturing him severely in their custody and getting information from him under duress as evidenced in the Press Statement released by Nigerian army, should his fragile health condition worsen, the world should hold the Nigerian government responsible for that.

Nnamdi Kanu
However, the Indigenous People of Biafra is still calling on the Nigerian Army to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to enable him have access to his medical team and at same time prepare himself for his next court appearance. There is no how the Nigerian Army will continue to hold Mazi Nnamdi Kanu incommunicado without access to treatment from September 14 till date. For the military to torture and extract these words from him under duress without the presence of his lawyers in the Army dungeon, is the height of human right abuse against him and a mockery to the ongoing judicial process in the court.

It is important the world takes into cognizance the fact that the Nigerian army said on October 6, 2017 that Nnamdi Kanu has no means of livelihood. How did the military come to know that? It points to the fact that the Nigerian military kidnapped Mazi Nnamdi Kanu , the day they raided his home. I am saying this so that the military will not go back and deny same with time. IPOB lawyers should add this Press Statement released by the military as another exhibit of human right abuse meted on Nnamdi Kanu when he was in military detention.

I rest my case!
