A Biafran boy celebrating Biafra in Senegal
It is no more news that the Nigeria Security Operatives who are primarily supposed by law and professional training, to be protectors of citizens, have become monsters, terrorists and vampires. They now engage in ethnic cleansing and institutionalised extra-judicial killings as recent bizarre developments portray. There has been records of ugly incidents that took place along the popular Rumuodara/Okporo/Artillery road before now. The Okporo Divisional Police Station located within that axis in Igweocha (Port Harcourt - Rivers State), has strengthened its prowess in criminality as officers from that particular station have had many innocent people arrested, brutalised, detained and even killed at different occasions.

On Saturday 30th of September 2017, the Nigeria Police Okporo Division, really showcased its immoral quest once again to clinically annihilate the Biafran People as another innocent, promising, young Biafran was murdered.

A survivor who narrowly escaped the Police Killers' bullets that very day, bares his mind as a witness to all that transpired in an interview with Family Writers Press Correspondents.

EXCERPTS:

My name is Wilfred Bassey Etim and I am from Akwa Ibom state, Biafraland. It all happened on Saturday the 30th day of September 2017 after the usual monthly Rivers State Environmental Sanitation Exercise which takes place on every last Saturday. I went out normally like every other person for my business of supplying bags of water with my tricycle to my customers. On my way from Artillery to Rumuodara, a young fellow, a Biafran youth, beckoned on me to kindly give him a lift which I obliged. On our way approaching Okporo Divisional Police Station, a Policeman ran across the road to us from the opposite direction and shouted "See that Biafran, see that Biafran."

FWP Correspondents:
What can you really tell that prompted the Policeman's action against you?

Wilfred :
Yes!  I can vividly remember that Policemen from the Okporo Divisional Police Station before now had illegally detained some family members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB). That very day, IPOB members stormed the Station demanding peacefully, their immediate release.  As I finished with my water supplies that faithful day and parked my tricycle besides the Station to join my brethren to press for the release of those IPOB members unjustly detained. And as I got back to my tricycle, I discovered on enquiry that my tricycle has been emptied of the remaining sachets of water by the Policemen standing outside the gate of the Station during our protest within the premises. I didn't know that one of the Policemen who took notice of me that day happened to be the same officer who came running across the road to me and the young fellow (Biafran youth) that I gave a ride and he came shouting "See the Biafran, see the Biafran.

FWP Correspondents:
So after the utterance of the Police Officer as he got to you, what then happened?

Wilfred:
Before I realised what actually that was going on, the officer had pulled the trigger of his gun and shot at me but the bullets missed their target and hit the young fellow Biafran brother I was giving a ride on my sachet water tricycle. And as soon as he discovered that he had killed the fellow, he ran away into the Police Station for safety. Some passersby and sympathisers who saw what transpired, thronged around the spot of the incident to render assistance and the slain was taken to one of the closest clinics around, called "PRIME HOSPITAL".

FWP correspondents:
What then followed as you got to the (clinic) Hospital?

Wilfred:
As we got to the Prime Hospital, and as the doctors started battling to revive the victim, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in company of some of his officers, came in and forcefully took the body to "FIRST RIVERS HOSPITAL", Rumuomasi, Port Harcourt. A few of us trailed behind them, but unfortunately, the victim gave up the ghost on the way. The Police in their craftiness, tried to manipulate, conceal and secretly dispose off the body but were strongly resisted. The deceased body was however taken back to Okporo Divisional Police Station which attracted crowds of people to the vicinity.

In less than 5 minutes, 3 hilux vans loaded with Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police arrived the scene, started shooting sporadically, live bullets and teargas which dispersed part of the crowd. They arrested 20 persons (Biafrans) for daring to demand from them, the offence the innocent young Biafran committed which would warrant such a gruesome killing. In the course of this interview, it is important to note that the arrested are yet being detained by the Nigeria Police.

FWP Correspondents:
From your narrative, you seem to be the prime target of these people. Since these events, what has the situation been around you?

Wilfred:
From the evolving developments, there is no doubt that these people are after my life just to kill me. They have mounted surveillance against me and going by reliable information so far gathered, they are bent in eliminating me any time I am found and tagged a cultist in order to cover up their criminalities. I am the only witness alive today who can tell the story better, of what actually transpired. I am therefore using this medium to call on all Biafrans the world over, Human Rights Organisations, the International community and all well-meaning individuals to come to my rescue. "My life is presently and seriously in danger as I speak to you."
