"The restructuring of Nigeria into smaller and independent federations limits and the devolution of powers to these federating units to control exclusively their human capital development, mineral resources, agriculture, and power (albeit with an obligation to contribute to the federal government) is the only way to salvage our fledging economy.

Restructuring will devote attention to the new wealth areas, promote competition and productivity as the new federating units struggle to survive. It will drastically reduce corruption as the large federal parastatals which gulp government revenue for little or no impact dissolve and give way to small and viable organs in the new federating units"

The above are excerpts from the lecture delivered by John Nnia Nwodo, President-General of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, at Chatham House London, on September 27th, 2017. 13 days after the Nigerian Armys' invasion of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's residence. The speech was titled : "Restructuring Nigeria: Decentralisation For National Cohesion". It was to be John Nnia Nwodo's last public sermon on Restructuring.

Since then, he has found a new hobby in asking Ndi Igbo to make friends across Nigeria so as to be able to win the Nigerian presidency come 2023. Whatever he means by that is solely his business. When he is not doing that, he is busy inviting former UN representatives to Enugu, in a stage-managed visit so as to boost his fragile ego and present himself and Ohaneze group as the true mouthpiece of Ndi Igbo and Biafrans. For John Nnia Nwodo and his gang of red cap wearing deceitful demagogues, it is about preserving their status as "Igbo leaders". Honour and integrity is out of the question. It is about keeping that window of opportunity to exploit their own people for material gains constantly open. That was their only problem with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's constant criticism of the incoherent ideology within Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, his unflinching resolve not to tow the path of "leadership for hire", that John Nnia Nwodo and Ohaneze Ndi Igbo provides, which really made their hackles rise and they got their knickers in a twist. To get even, and ultimately cut short his rising popularity that was moving with the speed of a hurricane, they had to get into an unholy alliance with the Hausa-Fulani dominated military. The progeny of that unholy alliance was the genocidal "Operation Python Dance" which was targeted to eliminate Kanu and IPOB. Since then, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has not been seen or heard.

The genocidal Operation Python Dance also came and disappeared with Ohaneze's vocal position on Restructuring of Nigeria. The obvious marginalisation and maltreatment of Ndi Igbo has become a political card Ohaneze Ndi Igbo plays when they are in self-centered negotiations with the Nigerian government. Exemplified by the comic protestations offered recently by Nnia Nwodo, when Buhari --in his archetypal clannishness-- chosed to appoint the SGF(Seceretary to the Government of the Federation) from his own family, ignoring Ndi Igbo once again. Gone were the days when Nnia Nwodo's speeches and excerpts from his interviews, strongly accused the Nigerian government of maltreating Ndi Igbo and Biafrans. The wind has surely swept away the days when Nnia Nwodo will go on air on Channels Television and pull out a piece of paper, and recite, like a Litany of sorrows, the many occasions Ndi Igbo and Biafrans have been massacred in the North.

Those were the days, before Nnamdi Kanu came out of the prison. Those were the days Ohaneze Ndi Igbo pretended to be a true Igbo organisation representing the true aspirations of Ndi Igbo. Those were the days Nnia Nwodo will invite Nnamdi Kanu to a secret meeting and an official from American embassy will suddenly materialise. Those were the days when Nnia Nwodo was playing the role of the Wolf amongst Sheep to perfection. Those were also the days when Ohaneze Ndi Igbo was playing the role of the "House Rat" that told the "Bush Rat" that there is fish in the house for consumption. Those were the days of deceptions and subterfuge, smokes and mirrors.

Since then, Ohaneze Ndi Igbo has shown their true colours. They have bared their minds and souls to Ndi Igbo and it harbours nothing but gut-wrenching putrefaction, embodied in stomach churning jealousy and mind-boggling betrayal. It beggars belief that just as meetings with South-East Governors forum, Ohaneze Ndi Igbo and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was bearing fruit, these group of soul robbers and authority thieves, connived with Arewa politicians and Arewa dominated Army and sanctioned a full-scale genocide on Ndi Igbo codenamed "Operation Python Dance II".

In their bid to undermine a young and charismatic leader whose only transgression was stating the problems of his people with burning enthusiasm and genuine love, and defending their interest with unimpeachable integrity; John Nnia Nwodo and Ohaneze Ndi Igbo decided to betray Ndi Igbo and Biafrans for an elusive SGF position and/or Nigerian Presidency In 2023.

I have these questions for Ohaneze Ndi Igbo and Nnia Nwodo:

What will be the population of Nigeria by 2023?
Will this 'feeding bottle Federalism' be responsible to cater for the needs of a Nigerian population that will be growing at an unprecedented rate by 2023?
What is the Economic growth projection of Nigeria by 2023?
Does Ohaneze Ndi Igbo feel it is fair to leave the destiny of our unborn generations in the hands of this directionless and visionless country till 2023 and beyond?
Will an Igbo presidency put food on the table of millions of Biafrans who are desperate to escape this damnable union and take their destiny (Biafra) in their hands?
The world is advancing in all aspects everywhere you look. The western world is breaking new grounds in the field of science and technology. Does John Nnia Nwodo and Ohaneze Ndi Igbo feel it is fair, for Biafrans, with their limitless potentials, to keep existing in a country without a coherent economic plan beyond production of pencils before 2020, exporting rotten yams and taxing beggars?
When will we have a second Niger Bridge? Is it in 2023?
When are we going to fix Enugwu/Onicha expressway, East-West Road, Aba-Port Harcourt Road, Aba -Ikot-ekpene Road, Aba-Umuahia Road and other death trap roads in Biafraland that is called Federal Roads? Is it in 2023? How many dead bodies are we going to put up with before then?
When are we going to have functional Sea ports in Biafraland? What about vibrant and functional international airports, when are we going to have them? Is it in 2023?
When are we going to have sub-way railways and trains that will massively connect the entire Biafraland and ease the problem of locomotion? Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, is it in 2023?
How many unemployed graduates of Biafran extraction will Nigeria be able to employ by 2023?
What about constant electricity, water, cheap and accessible healthcare, will we have them in Nigeria by 2023?

Biafrans are tired of living this huge disappointment called Nigeria that has existed for far too long. Our patience has been stretched to the limits. Biafrans have made up their minds to leave Nigeria. A huge step in that direction will be taken on November 18th in Anambra State when Biafrans in Anambra state will boycott the upcoming polls and create a constitutional impasse. Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, if truly it is a group that represents the interest of the masses, should key into that plan, and quit stage-managing meetings with "UN Delegates", which is nothing but a desperate fix to draw legitimacy to itself. When in practice all it does is to offer 'Leadership for rent' by playing games of smokes, mirrors and cash with the destiny of Ndi Igbo.
