IPOB: FG ABSENT AGAIN, AS COURT ADJOURNS NAMDI KANU'S CASE TO FEBRUARY 2018

FG ABSENT AGAIN, AS COURT ADJOURNS NAMDI KANU'S CASE TO FEBRUARY 2018

December 5, 2017.

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, had in a court sitting earlier today, adjourned the continuation of trial of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, as well as the  hearing of the bail applications tabled before it by the defense counsels to the IPOB leader's codefendants which was scheduled for today, been the 5th of December 2017.

The whereabouts of the Nnamdi Kanu has remained unknown after a bloody military invasion of his residence at Isiama Afaraukwu-Ibeku in Umuahia, Abia state, which left dozens of Biafra activists dead, and scores of others injured.  The IPOB leader's sudden disappearance has sparked a global outrage, with the lawyer accusing the Nigeria military of being in possession of his client.
The court has however, reserved its ruling on whether or not the Nigeria military should produce Nnamdi Kanu, following the nonappearance of counsel to the Nigeria government.

Reasons for the repeated adjournment according to the presiding judge who read the application is that, Labaran Shaibu, the Head of the prosecuting counsel of the Nigeria government travelled abroad for a conference, hence prompting the ineffectiveness of the court sitting.

The court however, permitted the application for adjournment to 20th of February 2018  for the commencement of the hearing.
