BIAFRA: TREASONABLE FELONY CHARGES AND ENDLESS ADJOURNMENTS

TREASONABLE FELONY CHARGES AND ENDLESS ADJOURNMENTS

In his inalienable desire to set his people free from generic oppression and enslavement, and the blessed land of the rising sun - BIAFRA fully restored, the highly enlightened, dogged and courageous leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu very wittingly, braced the perils of a tortuous journey from his comfort and convenience in Europe to Nigeria. He was abducted and illegitimately incarcerated by the Nigerian Security Operatives. He endured humiliation and various degrees of deprivation in the most inhuman dungeons of the country and was eventually taken to court on trumped up charges of treasonable felony amongst others. The entire drama of persecution in the hands of government agents termed trials, metamorphosed into judicial mockery in a supposed democracy.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had on occasions, been declared and set free by Abuja-based Federal Courts but was denied bail by the manipulative hands of tyrant Buhari and his cabals operating behind the scene. The plights of the Biafran leader in prison custody cannot therefore sufficiently be explained nor can the ugly experiences he went through since 2016 when he was granted bail on health grounds be ascertained.

What was expected to be a civilized judicial process, turned out to be a prejudiced persecution through the instrumentality of Buhari government of selected judges and military. The Nigerian Federal Courts which are ostensibly being presided over by Hausa-Fulani Sharia teleguided judges, failed to advance justifiable evidences to butress their purported charges against the innocent in the persons of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Benjamin Mmaduagwu, David Nwawuisi and Chidiebere Onwudiwe. The same story is said of thousands of Biafrans variously abducted from their homes, worship/market places, family meetings and protests venues, who are also being held in custody. Biafran journalists like Egwuatu Chukwuka and Prince Daniel who were detailed to official duties were not spared the extra-judicial incarcerations. These two who were equally arrested while carrying out their professional functions on November 2017 are still being held incommunicado till date by security agents.

Reminiscent of the Nigerian Judiciary is the history of unnecessary, immoral and consistent adjournments of court proceedings. It was this  unprofessional developments steadily being carried out against the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), that gave a leeway to the Nigerian Army to unleash their terror and lawlessness on the people through their invasion of the home of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on the 14th of September 2017, killing scores of promising Biafran youths and wantonly destroying the Royal Palace of his father at Afaraukwu-Ibeku, Umuahia, Abia State, South-East, Nigeria.

The incessant postponement of court cases involving Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the IPOB, is nothing short of sinister plots of the Nigerian government to decimate Biafrans by drafting it's military to Biafraland with the resultant effect of gruesomely massacring, abducting and maiming Biafra men, women and youths. The Nigerian Judiciary can no longer restrain the crime of inhumanity perpetrated against the Biafran people. The Buhari led tyrannical federal government is ruthlessly and unrelentlessly dictating who to imprison or made a public spectacle.

The institutionalisation of inequality policy as clearly being pursued in every facet by the Nigerian state contrary to the dictates the Constitution, has strongly fired up Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the IPOB to seek redress outside the shores of the country and the African continent. The much reverenced sub-regional court called Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) court, has shamelessly mortgaged it's professional integrity for crass interests or overtures from the Nigerian government through it's exhibition of disappointing level of compromises in adjudicating the matter as tabled before it by Biafrans. The down trodden in the Nigerian society are being denied justice daily due to corruption and government control. Justice system in the country has grossly been compromised.

To Biafrans, the seemingly endless maneuverings of judicial processes and the corrupt, teleguided judges coupled with Nigerian government's vampiric antecedents, can no longer be tolerated hence the wisdom of the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide, under the supreme command of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, to look elsewhere, where justice and fair play could expeditiously be obtained. Justice delayed they say, is justice denied. It has become pertinent to seek for justice in the civilized world where humanity is treated with respect according to the rule of law and natural justice.
