The Imo State chapter of Biafra Indigenous Council of Elders (BICOE), on Thursday 9th August 2018, held a special meeting at Owerri, the State capital. This was precipitated by the desire to get the entire province of Imo maximally comply with the upcoming Biafra referendum demands.

Election into key leadership positions, in consonance with the resolution of the elders, was conducted to pilot the affairs of the body. Elder Ebere Ngonsi who ably represented the BICOE President, HRH Enyinndia Ogunka, helped in the conduction of the election. Those elected include:

* Chinedu Anyanwu Chukwudi....
Chairman

* Chijioke Nna (aka father, father)....Vice Chairman

* Rev. Dr. E. Irolewe.... Secretary

* Elder Willie Okechukwu Anyaoha......Treasurer

* Doc. C. Ogbonna..... Public Relations Officer

Elder Ebere Ngonsi who represented the President, HRH Enyinndia Ogunka, on behalf of the Biafra Indigenous Council of Elders (BICOE), pledged to fully represent the overriding interest of Biafrans without whom the formation of the body would have been irrelevant.  He maintained that BICOE, would soon embark on familiarization visits throughout the entire Biafra territory with the primary purpose of parleying with trusted/relevant Biafran opinion leaders and men/women of honor regarding the ongoing, resilient and uncompromising demand of the people for Biafra referendum cum restoration.

Family Writers Press Correspondents, Master Mike and Ben Alvin Obi who comprehensively documented proceedings, assured the Biafra Indigenous Council of Elders (BICOE), of all necessary assistance in adequately disseminating information regarding BICOE activities in concert with the Biafra restoration struggle to the outside world.
