BIAFRA: JOY ERUPTS IN ENUGU AS DETAINED IPOB WOMEN RETURN HOME

BIAFRA: JOY ERUPTS IN ENUGU AS DETAINED IPOB WOMEN RETURN HOME

Egwuatu Chutz Reporting For Family Writers Press

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) family in Enugu, on Saturday 25th August 2018, went into jubilation, as the women that formed the bulk of illegal detainees in Owerri were welcomed home. These women were unconditionally released following spirited legal fireworks employed by the IPOB legal team in Owerri-based Magistrate Court on Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th August, 2018.

It should be recalled that over one hundred and fourteen (114) IPOB women were abducted, extra-judicially incarcerated, severally molested and assaulted by the Imo State Police Command for almost one week. They were  charged for:

* Treason
* Terrorism
* And other ungrounded allegations

The women were criminally remanded in prison custody following their arrests for massively staging a peaceful and harmless protest, requesting for the whereabouts of their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his aged parents, as the presiding Magistrate judge denied them jurisdiction for bail.

On Friday 24th August 2018, the Director for Public Prosecution (DPP), shamefully withdrew all the baseless charges  preferred against the women, prompting the highly enlightened and doggedly dependable IPOB legal counsels to place demands for their acquittal, immediate and unconditional release.

The whole women detained have all been granted bail unconditionally and discharged. They have all gone back to their different places of abode in victory and exceptionally more invigorated.

Seven (7) IPOB Enugu women which formed part of those who travelled to Owerri for the peaceful protest, abducted and illegally detained were eventually released. Prior to this time, some of the family members and relatives of the women (wives, aunties, sisters, daughters, mothers and grandmothers), were sincerely troubled because of the dehumanizing treatments/conditions they were subjected to in the hands of their captors since Friday 17th of August, 2018.

On Friday 24th August 2018, some delegates were sent to Owerri from Enugu by the IPOB family to escort the courageous women back home on their release from detention. They safely arrived Enugu, on Saturday 25th August 2018. The women were escorted down to their respective family homes amidst songs of solidarity and encouragement, thus boosting the morales of various families and relatives.

The relatives could not hide their emotions ladened with uncontrollable joy for the unusual love and concern accorded the women by the IPOB family, pointing out that they remained proud of their wives' and mothers' resilience and courageousness in the Biafra restoration struggle, the odds notwithstanding. They also enjoined the IPOB family to rentlessly carry on with the love and unity of purpose anchoring on the popular saying: "ONURUBE NWANNE AGBANAOSO".

The Biafra restoration project and the entire IPOB family worldwide, were prayed for, with the hope that the classified restoration efforts would most uncompromisingly, be driven to a logical conclusion.
