The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, organized a two-day instructive national conference for her core leadership in Biafraland. This was held in Anambra State fundamentally, to take a wholistic look at issues bordering on the Biafra restoration struggle vis-a-vis the upcoming referendum.
The IPOB National leadership conference attracted impressive number of participants (Principal Officers) from within and outside Biafraland. Mazi George Onyeibe, the IPOB African Representative cum Interim National Coordinator chaired the conference which commenced on Tuesday 21 and ended on Wednesday 23rd August, 2018.
The Ebonyi State Coordinator - Mazi Igwe Ogbonnaya, Enugu State Coordinator - Mazi Ikechukwu Egbo Nwodo, Abia State Coordinator - Mazi Ikechukwu Onuora amongst other State Coordinators, their Deputies, Regional, Senatorial, District, Local Government Area, Zonal and Unit Coordinators, were all in attendance.
The convention beamed some light on the preparations for the planned Biafra referendum which according to Mazi George Onyeibe, will soon be fully unearthed as all relevant facilities/equipments are adequately positioned. There also were lectures regarding the conduct of the referendum which is dependent on the season and environmental factors. Experts took some time out to give detailed enlightenment to the attendees particularly on this all important subject.
Delivering his address, Mazi Onyeibe elucidated on the IPOB leadership structure. He gave details on the laid down structures from the highest command, down to the Family Units. Functions and limitations were respectively and fully treated to avoid violation of protocols. He further stressed: "This is important because as we prepare to enter Biafra which is our last hope, there is the need to adjust in all ramifications. We are a peculiar people with lots of expectations by many within the continent of Africa".
Many participants who bared their minds about the convention, deeply expressed joy and satisfaction for their presence and for the invaluable knowledge acquired. Mazi Nnamdi Ka Nmadu, an Aba-based IPOB activist stated "This is a welcomed development, it shows that IPOB worldwide, ably led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is really determined to restore the nation of Biafra despite all despicable spate of humiliations and oppressions the Nigerian government has subjected Biafrans to".
Mazi Emeka Mbamaram, an Igweocha-based Senatorial District Coordinator, condemned the unwarranted and the continued incarceration and degrading treatments being meted on Biafrans by the Nigerian government and it's foreign allies. "This is very unfortunate and totally unacceptable. It is time for the global community to rise to their responsibilities by firmly condemning this barbaric reign of tyranny and injustice. It is almost one week running now since our women who were on a peaceful rally were arrested and extra-judicially detained by the Nigerian Police in Owerri for just rightly demanding the whereabouts of their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. He decried the world's unhealthy muteness over the existing chain of injustice".
It should be recalled that the supreme leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his aged parents were abducted by the Nigerian army officers on the 14th of September, 2018. This followed the murderous invasion carried out at their residence in Afara-ukwu, Ibeku in Umuahia, Abia State, under the devilish guise of Operation Python Dance II expedition as launched against Biafrans under the directive of the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, a means they thought would curb the rightful activities of the IPOB. Eversince then till date, the whereabouts of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his parents have remained mysterious. The organization globally, has resiliently placed demands albeit peacefully before the Nigerian government to produce it's leader.
Some of the convention participants unequivocally stated that the only acceptable panacea for the degrading treatments Biafrans have so far been subjected to, is for the Nigerian government and it's cronies to outrightly give cooperation for the total and peaceful exit of Biafra as a sovereign and independent nation.
