Coordinators of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), massively converged in Anambra State, Biafraland, for their conference which was held on Wednesday 22nd August 2018. It attracted participants from within and outside Biafraland. Those who couldn't make it sent representatives. Quite a number of women leaders were also present.
This convention was principally put together to address some teething problems facing the attendees in their capacities and also to get them reminded/fully enlightened on the structure, rules and regulations of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). The IPOB African Representative who also doubles as the IPOB Interim National Coordinator, Mazi George Onyeibe pointedly stated the need for all participants to meticulously adapt to the laid down principles of the organisation as there exists damning consequences for any act of contravention/insubordination.
He commenced his address by reading out the full details of the leadership hierarchy in IPOB as a whole. He maintained that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu remains the incontestable leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra and ably deputised by Mazi Uchenna Okafor Mefor. There is Directorate of State which is headed by Mazi Chika Edoziem, with his deputy. Finance department is headed by Mrs. Nnennaya Anya while the Media department is headed by Mazi Oforma. Other offices include: Continental Representatives, African Representative, National Coordinators, Regional Coordinators, State Coordinators, Senatorial Coordinators, Zonal Coordinators and Unit Coordinators. We also have National Mobilization Officer, Regional Mobilization Officer, Legal Team and Welfare Department.
Mazi Onyeibe emphasized that the hierarchical structure of the IPOB leadership does not entertain interferences to avert complexities. Every department must maintain and function within it's own jurisdiction for orderliness and effectiveness according to laid down rules.
Questions regarding the IPOB leadership structure amongst other contending issues in various locations of operation were asked with definitive responses and solutions adequately given.
It should be reported stated here that this convention recorded one of the best gatherings in recent times. Issues were adequately handled to the clarity of all attendees. Some elders in the convention gave their words of advice, encouraging everyone to remain resolute and focused as we victoriously approach the end of the struggle. Lectures on the forthcoming Biafra referendum were also given. The event successfully went through the night with every participant exuding airs of joy and confidence.
Rounding up, there were refreshments, exchange of pleasantries and group photographs.
