BIAFRA GENERAL STRIKE ACTION: SITUATION REPORT FROM ENUGU PROVINCE

BIAFRA GENERAL STRIKE ACTION: SITUATION REPORT FROM ENUGU PROVINCE

Egwuatu Chutz
Reporting For Family Writers Press

The order of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) remained paramount in Enugu Province as Biafrans  fully observed and obeyed the General Strike/Sit-At-Home Action as carried out today in Biafraland.

Earlier in the morning, there were no vehicular movements and markets/businesses totally shutdown as men, women and children remained indoors. They prayed for the repose of the souls of the slain by the Nigerian army during the evil military expedition tagged "Operation Python Dance II" in Biafraland coupled with the murderous invasion of the residence of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, on 14th September 2017, at Afara-ukwu Ibeku in Umuahia, Abia State. He has since then not been seen along with his aged parents who are believed to have been kept incommunicado in a secretive custody.

In Enugu and environs today, Biafrans totally complied with the observance of the Sit-At-Home exercise. Family Writers Press Correspondents were readily on ground to get live updates of proceedings which were adequately made available to the public within Biafraland and the outside world. There  were extensive collation of news updates by journalists regarding the exercise within the city of Enugu from various market places, streets, institutions, parastatals etcetera.

The popular Ogbete main market tried opening for business by the superintending authority in vain as Biafrans  clinically shunned cooperation. Keyenta market was shut down while the popular Gariki market witnessed scanty patronage. Business owners in this place shunned opening their shops in compliance with the General Strike Action. It was the same report all over. Banks, hospitals, schools and motor parks were totally shutdown to businesses in respect of the IPOB order for a Sit-At-Home.

Nsukka axis in Enugu Province which comprises of five local government areas, was equally shutdown. Live video reports posted virally on the internet (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and WhatsApp) are irrefutable confirmation.

However, the Nigerian armed forces including the army, navy, airforce, police, officers of the Department of Security Services (DSS), Anti-kidnapping Squad, Anti-cultism, Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Civil Defense Corps etcetera, have been parading round the streets of Enugu since 12th September 2018, intimidating unarmed, innocent civilians and IPOB members.

As at 2:00pm, few commercial vehicle drivers were seen on the roads scanning for proceeds to maintain their families in the midst of the General Strike exercise, as a result of the present economic realities of Nigeria. Most of the drivers posited that they were staying through with the action of the day as ordered by the IPOB leadership.

Enugu Province totally complied with the General Strike/Sit-At-Home Action as ordered.
